Nice haul @bez. My copy of Meccanizzazione shipped yesterday so hopefully that will arrive early next week. I've never heard of 7 volte 7, what is that?
I feel like I need to check out Marion Brown album, I've seen that a few times over the last few weeks and don't really know anything about it.

about 7 Volte 7:
A classic score by legendary Armando Trovajoli for the comedy-action-spy movie directed in year 1968 by Michele Lupo and produced by Marco Vicario. Fresh off the big hits of the Seven Golden Men, producer Vicario hired again Armando Trovajoli for this motion picture. M° Trovajoli has created a very loungey soundtrack filled with blues and jazzy elements. The highly talented choir of I Cantori Moderni di Alessandro Alessandroni plays an important role in the score, performing in its unique way. The composer has written a very cool Beat tune performed by the beat band The Casuals with a swinging London mood. This album has been carefully mastered using the original mono master tapes, with extra tracks not on the first pressing issued in 1968, one of them being a rare stereo mix.

I was worried about this beast getting shipped but Waxwork has put in some effort with reinforced corners, and they also shipped UPS Ground at no charge rather than USPS media mail here domestically. The Godzilla box set was also bubble wrapped along with added packing material on the inside to reinforce it. That said, I still experienced the fear when I gently moved the package and felt vinyl move around. It really sucks to drop big money on a huge box set only have a bunch of split seams due to shipping, but I am pleased to report that they went the extra mile and padded out the interior of the set with additional cardboard to prevent too much free movement of the LP’s. I checked them all and not a single seam split, amazing!

The set also included MoFi anti-static inner sleeves which are appreciated considering the high cost. I think these might have helped much more than paper sleeves with keeping the vinyl from being jolted too hard during shipping. I even like the included slip mat!

My only gripe is the usual one… a total lack of any real sleeve notes other than the briefest of production credits. This set is going to keep me occupied for quite a long time.

@deaf: great to hear and see the packaging job they did. I would love that set from a collector’s perspective. I still don’t know a lot about those movies and scores. I have all the movies but still need to commit.

Enjoy!

It is a great set, but I felt also that a booklet with notes would have been great to have, because even if it's a massive set, it does feel "barebones" in a way. Love the slipmat, it's the one I'll keep on the turntable for a while.

I've been having some great luck with discogs lately. Stumbling across good prices and securing a grail I've been after for years that I can't wait to share. I luckily sold a few records over the weekend that helped pay for part of the grail purchase. And then this morning I came across a TD record I've been after for under half of it's normal selling price in VG+ condition.

Christine! What ever it is, congrats!
Well if you sold a couple of records to pay part of that one record, it is going to be something very very special.

Nice one, Inks. Looking forward to seeing what you got.

I just bought 2 TD 7"s. I technically already own one of them as a 12" but at $3 & no additional shipping costs, how can I say no to that.

Christine is a myth. I’m convinced.

Nationality of this grail, Inks? And pressing origin? For instance... ITALIAN/JAPANESE perhaps? ;)
