Beautiful @bez if there was one og morricone to own that may well be it. Would really love to see something pop up in comparison corner following this ,😉. That Italian font and graphic design although simple is so damn good!

Thanks. It is the most money (by far) I ever paid for a record. I really love that cover. And as far as Morricone records is concerned this one I wanted the most.
About 5 months or so ago I sent the seller of this copy a message on Discogs. It was the cheapest one available but the seller had only this record for a sale and no history. I believe he had it for sale for at least six months before I messaged him about 5 months ago. It was a difficult conversation because I sent the message in English and he replied in German. After that I used google translate to send my messages in German. The seller wanted me to pay by bank transfer or paypal friends. I was very hesitant because it was a lot of money and he had no history. At one point he sent me his mobile number because he wanted to continue the conversation on whatsapp. I added him but never sent him a message.
But with all his data I tried to find out as much as a could on Google and I found out a bit more and I had the feeling he was not a scammer.
This initial conversation through discogs took at least two weeks and in the end I managed to get him to agree I could pay using paypal with buyer protection. But at that point I got tired of it all. I could not get behind how difficult this all went.

Fast forward to last week. I kept watching the record on discogs and nothing changed. I saved up some money and made up my mind I would take the gamble. Based on the sale history and copies I could find for sale in the last 12 months I knew this would be a real chance for me to actually obtain this record for the amount I felt I wanted to pay.
Past Monday I sent the seller a message on whatsapp and a couple of hours later I sent 300 euro to him via bank transfer. I didn't want to go through the hassle I had months ago and before I messaged him I made up my mind I would simply throw the money at him :-)
The same day he shipped the record and three days later I had in my hands. It is a very clean copy. And I am afraid it opened to door to other expensive OGs...

And I still need to play it :-) I am going to okki nokki it first although it does look clean. Pour a glass of great beer and give it my full attention later today.

Wow, what a trial @bez glad the story has a good ending. I can see this business becoming more common as discogs becomes more automated with tax and payment.

A couple more Polish pieces that came through the post. Should have been another Jerzy Milian LP but the sale fell through.
The 7" is new prev. Unreleased material. The Komeda has 3 jazz pieces and "Crazy Girl" that was used in knife in the water, not sure if this actual version.

Beautiful @tex! I'd love to hear a A/B comparison of a track from the OG and reissue.

I’m not familiar with this at all so I checked it out. Does anybody else get Pee Wee’s Big Adventure (Breakfast Machine) vibes off the track Industria Metallurgica? Elfman must of been a listening to this at the time he was scoring Pee Wee. It’s not an exact rip off but pretty damn close.

Just took a listen…yup that’s pretty damn reminiscent of the breakfast machine right there. I wonder if it was an influence or one of those “artists pulling from the same ether” sort of thing that happens from time to time

The funds I saved by passing on Mondo's new FMJ pressing were used towards getting these. Autobahn is an '85 press as well as Follow That Bird ;)

Nice haul @bub the more I think about it the more I pass on new pressings and wait out for the OG goodness. A question about Follow that Bird, are all the tracks Henson/Oz songs like the muppet movie? It’s been a very long time since I’ve watched and can’t really remember the music at all

Thanks, Pete. Yeah I'm always down to grab an original if it's within grasp.

The last time I watched Follow That Bird was probably when it came out so I don't recall the music either ha. But it didn't cost much so I just threw it in. Henson & Oz are definitely featured on it along with a track each by Alabama & Ronnie Milsap.
