Envious of those 45s, Bez. Some real beauts there. Speaking of, as we were, I din't realize Brad Pitt's stand-in was did Italian stag pictures.

deafmetal wrote:@Bez - have you caught the 45 bug? Dangerous! :) Great picks you have there. Il Profumo... has been on my want list for a long time.
Thanks :-)
I had the 45 bug for a while. I have an impressive want list :-) Buying was a different story because of the prices. It still is a different story. I cannot buy the new full releases and buy the 45's from my want list and save up for a holiday.
These 5 however were an impuls buy from Death Waltz's discogs. Fair prices and great services made me buy them :-)
The next batch will have to wait till next year.
There is a guy from Finland on Discogs who started selling a lot of 7" I want for okay prices a couple of months ago. But just couldn't spend the money. So I cherish this purchase for a long long time.

Very. Thank the Lord for Bewith Records for such a faithful reproduction including a lovely sleeve. The others really are superb though too and I couldn't resist. The 'You're a Melody 7" box set is just amazing and rare as hens teeth. I think you can listen to clips of all of them via Phonica Records UK if you have a moment.

Wow, I got some real killer wax yesterday. One OST and one lib plus a few super groovy 45s as well. I can't provide any pics or links, but if you click the Discogs-link on my profile you'll see the first 5 new additions to my collection.

That German OST is über funk, just what you need. Can't recommended it hard enough.

And that library! Univers 2000 by Eric Framond. Jonny Trunk described it as Satan meets jazz in his new bible. Or from his site: "UNIVERS 2000 - ERIC FRAMOND. Possibly a perfect record. Hard, jazzy, psychedelic and odd. And there are lots of ladies squealing behind insistent demonic rhythms which is what we like. Includes "Orgy with Satan" which is a title I am hugely envious of." It's absolutely insane. Not sure if you have to be insane yourself to really enjoy it, but I definitely do. That hysteric female screaming all over it, how can you resist that?

Last but not least, three funny 2010 7"s from Easy Tempo, all by Piero Umiliani. The Blue Nude is the weakest, but have a nice sexy artwork.

Picked up on the DeathWaltz table at London FrightFest yesterday.

Was lucky enough to turn up at the same time as composer Wojciech Golczewski and get the new album signed. Been raving about this one since the tape on French label Data Airlines a couple of months back. So good to see Death Waltz putting out its usual stellar vinyl package (sort of coke bottle green vinyl with a colour in colour + white splatter). Lovely guy too, quietly modest about his achievements.

Was also lucky enough to trade our latest tape for a forthcoming 7-inch, again with Data Airlines.

Also couldn't resist picking up this Mondo-issue Alan Howarth at a good price.

@Spun - The Reality Check album looks very interesting. I have seen many of you posting about it, and listening to the tape. I just picked up DWO-014, Form Hell. Some excellent curation on the Originals sublabel.

Also, the Howarth is a lovely gem. Very happy with that one.

@deaf.... yeah Spencer knows how to pick a tune (or several)! Classic soundtrack re-issues are great but good to know some interesting modern composers who might otherwise stay under the radar are equally adept at creating new 'classics'

Reality Check is well worth... checking

Also remember you recommending Howarth. Must admit original online samples didn't blow me away but will give it a chance on the turntable as Howarth can do little wrong

@ScoJo I've always wanted a copy of the Korean True Romance. I saw a NM copy appear online at an expensive, yet fair (ish) price (nowhere near $1500!!) and I pounced. Really happy with it, it's a beaut!

Sadly paganini horror arrived with a pretty dinged up sleeve though!
