Do only deluxe subbers get the discount code?

@dractheknife - the DW represses in the web shop (HII, They Live, PoD) are indeed the splatter vinyl, and are only available there from what I know. The copies in other distros are the clear vinyl versions.

DW faceebookpage - "Throughout December we'll be randomly packing test pressings into any mail order packages we ship out- everything from DW001 onward." makes me wish I would have ordered these 2 recent releases through their site.

The random test "press-ents" are a really fun idea, @deathwaltz. I passed on importing the deluxe versions of SNDN and Christmas Evil for now, but the idea is exciting. I think it would be neat to own a test pressing of the first Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Question about TPs: Do I have to buy vinyl for a chance at a TP? I'm planning on buying just the SNDN CD so will I still have a chance at one?

@nick - I think it's on any purchases made from the webstore :)

I've just received my first order from Death Waltz directly, and I'd have to say, you guys (and gals) have been spot on when talking about their shipping packages.
Both my records in the order were badly damaged.
I've shot an email to Spencer concerning this, and I'll wait to hear from him before trying to contact him on here. Just wondering what I should expect from DW. Pretty sure many of you folks have had to deal with this issue, as crazy as it may seem. I had a look around for a topic on here, but couldn't see one. I know I've seen Spencer respond to similar comments.
Love the records...hate that fact that they look like they have been set upon by rats!

I've ordered records from a few places in the UK (Death Waltz, Peaceville, Cold Spring), and they all came in those same vinyl sleeve mailers, which are shite. Sorry, but they are. They're not that thick, and rely on the stiffness of the record itself as opposed to the stiffness of the pacakaging. I've never had my records damaged by them, though on occasion they've had some dinged corners that weren't too bad. Sometimes Death Waltz uses boxes with Fragile tape around it (mostly the subscription packages when it's more than one record), and those seem to hold up better. So I don't think it's just DW, but maybe a UK thing?

Before this forum started, there used to be lots of pics on instagram of brutalized DW packages. As a stateside fan, it's why I have avoided the subs and never order direct. The image that haunts me the most was a package folded in half [shudders]. As much as this stuff costs, it ought to be shipped out better. Hell's Headbangers is a reasonably priced outlet that ships everything out in a cardboard submarine.

To be clear, concern over package condition is what keeps me from ordering from any international vendor. Aside from the occasional 7" or cassette, I avoid int'l orders because my postal anxiety cannot handle it. I have been a DW supporter since DW001 and have had no major condition issues; their partnership with LitA changed my life. I thought this was just a conversation about everyone's most feared bedfellows, vinyl records and postal services, not a dump on any label.

I just received 2 albums from DW yesterday. Both albums were in great shape. It was in different packaging then what I have received from them in the past.

All it took was for me to say something and retroactively change how things are done.
It could well be that it hasn't really been an issue since the forum started, but I think it's more that there are less pictures. It's not in anyone's hands entirely, and shit certainly has its way of happening, but shipping costs are a constant complaint and they might as well include sturdy packaging.
I ship things, so I understand that it's not free and that it's a hassle.

I've never had an issue with DW packages and i usually order direct. I had a slight corner ding on HOTD, but honestly i didn't even notice it at first, so not really a huge deal for me. (of course now that i said this, and knowing i have 4 packages coming from them in the next few weeks, all will be folded in half and set aflame by the USPS I'm sure...)

Firstly
if some dickhead from the post office wants to bend a package in half to shove it through someones letterbox there is not much anyone can do about it
Secondly
Townsend have started using new packing .
Townsend ship for us , OWS & Giallo disco so not sure why ours have been getting fucked lately.

I hate those cheap envelope mailers!

DW, OWS, Juno, Invada - and probably many others are using them. 50% of the records I order online turn up with corner bends/ creases. Sad!
I've found a cool online-shop in the UK (Norman Records) which offers sturdy cardboard mailers for just a few extra quids.
I'm trying to buy all my records from them from now on, because there's nothing more sad to a vinyl lover than to receive a damaged LP.
Spacelab9 offers the same service. And of course tons of professional sellers on Discogs.
Ironic really, with all our loved record companies and their love for the format too, and then it's all ruined in transit.

Amazon started using vinyl-only cardboard mailers that do alright with UPS but cannot withstand too much machining and usually get battered by USPS. I've seen a few labels mailing records out in those, but, I think they're a bit pricey, and, of course, only sort-of work.

Just buy your records at your local store. Please stop bitching about postage, packing etc. If your order is unusable, it will be replaced. I don't see many labels bailing on replacements for damaged mailouts. Honestly? A crease, a "dink"....does it really ruin your listening experience that much! Pristine, Perfect, Mint Condition...no such thing people. Let's move it along!

I thought I had figured it out... Hey, you got to order more than one LP to compensate for those insufficient mailers. That way, maybe they could support each other during transit, but NO.
My "The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue – Green Vinyl" turned up with an annoying corner bend so I can't read the text on the spine.

Slik, the love for vinyl is not limited to the awesome sound, but also includes the art.
