[quote=47280]Got a 10$ refund from Mondo so shipping is now 25€ for 1×12” and 1×7”, which is fine for me and won’t keep me from buying directly from them!

Thanks Mondo/DW!!

Double this!

Really.. I don't understand the complaints. Sure, high shipping costs is never a wanted extra in the total costs, but it is what it is! As DW and Mondo previously stated, they will be working on a fair shipping-proces for us UK/Europe folks. Honestly, did no one noticed how smooth the release went yesterday? How we ALL got what we wanted? Isn't that a wonderful start?! I choose to have this hobby of collecting cool soundtracks on vinyl and I am glad that both labels are still growing and deliver wonderful experiences on this musical road that we all love in the first place!

I think quite a few people didn't get what they wanted - the colourway of the first release of the year. I certainly didn't (though had already decided that I wasn't too bothered about the 'exclusive' version when there is a lovely white copy). But I don't think you can airbrush away the fact that it is now a dog fight to get limited releases from Mondo - let aside the increase in postage for UK buyers who after all were last year fans of a UK label.

I haven't bought any Mondo releases or any other US only releases for that matter, who don't distribute in the UK - can't justify the postage. I picked up a couple of Waxworks here in London, but I'm not suddenly changing my habits for DW. Which means I won't ever get an exclusive version again (until the market crashes and I'll buy them cheap on Discogs). That is a little sad for someone who has all the special versions up to this new single.

It's not life shattering - but hey - excuse me from not joining the happy dance just yet.

I think a read somewhere that DW will not be using the new textured or the AOP13 type covers anymore. Did anyone else see this?

I hope that isn't true! My biggest gripe with Mondo releases is the dinky direct-board jackets. Heavy tip-on gatefolds are sexy, and I love the cracking noise the spine makes the first time you open the gatefold.

Do pardon my Perfunctoriness on these issues.

I personally don't like the oversize jackets that DW do so I hope they do change.

Hey folks we shipped our stock to Mondo this week but I have a few copies of everything here at home so if anyone in the UK/Europe wants anything that was up in the store last week drop me a line and I will send you a list of what I have.

Great. Thanks a lot. Death Waltz forgetting about the little guy once again. I inhabit a micro nation, née disused container ship. Where's my customer support? Typical. I've been with the label since day none! I've even done covers for several DWRC releases. Granted I've never submitted them and they were done after the releases were already published, but still! No one appreciates macaroni art. This could be the final straw for me. I'll give it another fifty or sixty releases, but if there isn't a pop up store at my neighbouring garbage flotilla soon, I may have to call it quits.

I disagree, Mateo. Grandmas love macaroni art. I have a grandma. She'd love to talk to you and companion with you, as her family no longer talks to her (we all think the nursing home smells funny -- like a mix of regret and pureed beef). I'll tell her nurse that you're free on weekends.

@ Spencer, is it possible to access our old Death Waltz account to check pending orders for example?

I wouldn't say it's my artwork but I did design the package. I do love how it came out though.

Sometimes you get really lucky with this stuff and the film is beautifully shot and the director is completely on board and gives you wonderful assets to work with.

Makes my job super easy. :)

The The and Death Waltz related news.... sounds like an ace team up:

Good to have Matt Johnson back making music - been too long...

Here's the pertinent bit: "coming out through Matt's Cinéola independent soundtrack company and the ace Death Waltz label."
