@Nathan - how did the movie go down at Fantasia? Online reports suggest a standing ovation at the end??

Yes ! It was A-MA-ZING. There's this guy who did a heartwarming speech at the beginning of the screening, about how the RKSS crew (the directors) had been contributing short movies for the past 10 years at the Fantasia Film Festival and how they attended the festival as fan for the last 15 to 20 years and are ''genre movies'' lovers. Most festival regulars knew already who those guys are and they are already loved so much. After the speech they said to warmly welcome the RKSS crew, and then there was applause and cheer for them, for like 3-4 minutes, one of the director had tears in his eyes it was very nice. then they started the movie and you guys will all dig it. Any genre movie fan will totally get some of the references to other movies and the love of the 80's. This movie is just super fun and insane, the music, oh boy oh boy you guys will LOVE IT, it goes hard on one chase scene where Turbo Kid is fleeing an gang of POST APOCALYPTIC PUNKS RIDING BMX BIKES !! All throughout the movie the people were laughing loudly and twisting and said ''oooooh'' when there was over the top, fun, splatter gore on screen. after the movie there was another very long time of applause, this time everyone was standing up, they had a lot of the crew people on stage, including Michael Ironside and they spoke of how much it means that young guys from Quebec who loved genre movies that aren't really developed in the province here actually got to do this movie and how it might open the door for other passionate people to develop genre movies in our region.

It was the best screening of the festival so far. The public know the RKSS guys already and they love them and it's a big family. I'm probably going to watch it again with other friends in August when it gets released in regular theater, to see how it holds up outside of this amazing event at Fantasia but for sure, yeah guys please do watch it, it's filled with fun, and do get the soundtrack when it's released. don't even think twice, buy it.

Appreciate the report Nathan.... sounds like the London audience are in for a treat!

I guess the only thing that could have made the screening any more perfect was having the Turbo Kid soundtrack for sale in the foyer before/after..?? (hint, hint for London next month!) ;)

Must have been a great evening for the directors too, getting all that love from their peers...

Hmm is that the only way to get one? Or is this still going to be a death Waltz release for the 7" (teaser) followed by the LP?

@Juiceycow Thanks for the link. Will this be the same vinyl version with the upcoming DWR release?

I'm not sure of specifics, but I initially assumed it would just be the DWR release? (with a bit more $ tacked on for their crowdfund).
I'll try and find out.

There's 25 copies of the vinyl reward available on the campaign, plus 5 on the 500$ package, so it's most probably the artist's copies of the DWR edition that they're using on the campaign.

Looks like it's sold out already.

Also it seemed to be a perk without a delivery date shown.

I did snag one, I do hope it is something different either way, but if I paid a bit more to support then it's not a big deal.

Turbo kid is finally playing here at the end of this month.

I didn't even know about this guys !
They had asked but we got no further !!

Don't worry the DW version is going to be stunning !

They are still remixing the tracks for the vinyl as we speak .

7' will be up very soon !

Saw Turbo Kid at the Melbourne international Film Festival. Didn't like it at all. Michael Ironside is great, but that's about it.
