Finally got my US copy of "Abdullah." Sounds good so far! However, I noticed that mine didn't come with a download card. I'm curious if anyone else who got the US copy got a download card or not.

I found it. Somehow, it had gotten in the inner sleeve, between the protective inner plastic and the paper.

Now hoping I really did get them all and Spencer notices this, because I wouldn't be adverse in getting a DWRC/Mondo care package ;-)

So that is you NMA. Great guesses and fast! But I think you missed a couple ;-)

On an entirely other note: I was looking through the DWRC catalog on Discogs and the catalog numbers gave me food for thought.

DW17
DW30
DW47
DW48
have not yet been released. wIll they ever?

the score to Raw is DW101... the one before that is Abdullah with DW079... How many releases are already in the works? When do you assign a number to a future release? I know Spencer got the rights to release 20 or 30 giallo scores, but would one already assign a catalog number?

And why not keep the format of the numbering the same? Sometimes there is no 0 in front, sometimes there is... My OCD is not amused!

Anyways, a lot to look forward to.

Very interesting interview by Graham Humphreys. Thanks @ScoJo! : https://ratedartblog.wordpress.com/about/

45 minutes in Graham talks about his first meeting with Spencer. Apparently Spencer had a list containing 250-300 films he had the rights to release the score on vinyl. Out of curiosity, how does something like rights-owing work? Do you buy them and are they then yours forever? Or are they only available for a specific period of time? Is it possible that the original owners could decide after a couple of years that they want it back?
I am thinking of the issue OWS had with releasing The People Under the Stairs. If I understand correctly they had the rights to release it, but after Wes Craven died, his estate blocked this release...

Also Graham mentions the score to the Hammer films where he did the artwork for. We all know The Devil Rides Out never got released: http://exclaim.ca/music/article/death_w ... ns_of_evil

I framed the litho from the Zombie Flesh Eaters release. I need to get a second copy to get another because it has images on both sides. Love that artwork!

Whatever happened with The Devil Rides Out? I feel like Spencer addressed it here, but I don't remember what the (ahem) score was.

Did that get cancelled or just pushed back a lot? I know spencer was going to do a bunch of hammer stuff but so far he's just put out the two right? Twins of evil and Dracula AD 1972?

Hammer has been putting out some stuff themselves lately too, so maybe they did take them all back.

Yeah I can only imagine how nuts that company's rights issues are, even just releasing the films here in the US is a chaotic mish mash.

@bez @deaf
Thank you both very much (these things happen when you're nearly at the point of throwing the towel in....). Fingers crossed that all goes well but I know that all is in good and capable hands. Hopefully the word spreads far enough pre-release.

Australia will love the Death Waltz/Mondo team and this will be good for all involved.

I saw this this morning. Some good stuff in there, no? Plus, it's a mockup of the obi for Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue which is nice for anyone who kissed out on the OG. Also, Beast In Space tomorrow. Which is nice.

My release on Death Waltz isn't going to happen. To cut a long story short, It was a naive and desperate attempt by me to get noticed by the label and hopefully get signed. Apologies to Spencer if I have caused any embarassment.

No stress. I'm okay about it all.

Moving on...

Can't believe I'm seeing both Warriors of the Year 2072 and House on the Edge of the Park on that coming soon list. I watched the latter Hess monstrosity a few years ago, and it was pretty much... "Hess gone wild". Not exactly something I would recommend watching with the missus, unless you are prepared to discuss the history of misogyny and rape in genre films. I've had the soundtrack CD on Beat on my wish list for a while, but haven't picked it up. Looking forward to revisiting that one. It also has that Riz Ortolani love song "Sweetly" as the theme... but Warriors though, that is straight-up 80's future synth barbarian disco:

I haven't seen My Dear Killer, but that is a Morricone OST, yes? Also, no idea what Werewolf Woman is, but I live under a moss-covered rock and rarely see the sun.
