Ah, La Lupa Mannara, I was not familiar at all with this one. I thought it might be a new horror film or similar.

I have to second @Nathan on this one - the music is straight flames. Kind of Ortolani-ish, in the best way.

The 'ping pong' bass line has always been a fetish of mine, and the one on Sequence 9 is pure delight.

What do you all think of Giombini's Beast In Space coming tomorrow? I am sold, personally.

I ordered Beast in Space but have no idea what it sounds like. checking now.

Edit : pfff got no regrets on the blind buy, sounds great. It will go well with the Vinegar Syndrome releases that I got from last black friday (Sexworld and Sensual encounters of every kind), but also with the lo fi sci fi horror synth soundtracks like Forbidden World.

Yep!
And the film as well. Amazing how those labels keep on digging up obscure little gems for us.
As mentioned several times before by many of you - it's a great time to be a fan of cult movies & scores.

FYI, that Missionary Work is an LP, not a 7". More music coming your way!

All on my radar but I snatched up an Akira splatter since I missed out on that Milan preorder.

Really? I thought it was a three track 7". More fool me. Thanks for the heads up, Reddye.

I didn't know they had any of the splatter at Mondo, Bub. Good on, ya. I preordered a black copy from Amazon on the cheap.

Per Missionary Work, if it's that Seven Sermons release, it's a seven-track LP. If it's something else and I missed it, then I'll be irked.

I'm sure you're right. It looks to be exactly that. Very exciting.

Does anybody have any clips of the Wild Beasts score? I've found several examples of the original vocal/pop songs used in the film, but none of Daniele Patucchi's actual score. With the DWRC drop coming this week, a fella'd like to educate himself a piece.

yeah I'm a bit confused about this one, there was a release on CAM previously with patucchi tracks but they had vocals so I'm guessing this is a score only.

I'm with you there, MW. I am optimistic because I feel like DWRC has been releasing some choice stuff of late, but I'm always of a release without some clips to sample. Especially when it's described as a release that "takes some patience". Not in and of itself a bad thing, but pretty open to a variety of interpretations.

Absolutely love that Wild Beasts cover. Would love a small print of that to frame.
No idea about the score but the description sounds super:
Armed with a battery of synthesisers and processed animal effects, he manages to craft a score that is a world away from the usual Italian soundtracks that graced films in this period. Long droning bass tones underpin some sumptuous sax and back-breaking synth drums literally destroy everything in their path.
But then this sentence undermines the feeling I got from reading the above:
We won’t lie, this score requires patience, but spend time with it and you begin to love it for the chances it takes.
However, if Transmission is going to sell this I am adding it to a larger order I want to place in the near future as I am very intrigued. But I am going to pass getting this now from the US because of costs.

Very curious to see what other releases are coming:
Patucchi is one of the most underrated Italian composers for some reason, but we here at Death Waltz want to change that with several releases lined up in 2017/18.
Spencer created the deep cut for DIMENSIONE VIOLENZA BY DANIELE PATUCCHI in 2014:

Hopefully that will be one of the releases.

And this looks like a prime candidate purely based on the title and artwork. I have no idea how it sounds like :-)

@bez

I'm intrigued to here wild beasts too, I'm guessing it's a much more 80's sound.
And props to deathwaltz for asking listeners to stretch thier boundaries.
Curious if this is more than just a re-release of the CAM lp as I don't think it's crazy rare like absurd for example.

I really need to catch up on a lot of these new reissues.

As for other Patucchi material 'Man from Deep River' would be a good one.

Then theres 'sharks and men' and 'men and the sea' of course.

Be odd for them to release it, no? Pretty widely available. Maybe still in print even? Could be to cash in on the BD and theatrical releases. I'm just saying words.

Hey, who can blame them? I would. Plus, it deserves to be in print on its own merits.

I wonder about this one, esp considering that DW posted a live archive perf video of it as 'research'.....

Expanded edition/unearthed cuts/related material perhaps??
