Hi everyone, we're new here.

This is a topic created for news, suggestions for reissues and forum feedback on new London-based reissue record label Be With Records. Set up by ex-Piccadilly Records alumni.

We specialise in releasing vinyl records that are currently unavailable or never even received a vinyl release.

We want vinyl lovers to suggest records that should be released too and we'll do our best to license them.

We're delighted to announce that our first release (BEWITH001LP) will be Leon Ware - Leon Ware (1982), released throughout the world in May 2014.

It's long been a holy grail for rare groove collectors, with mint copies rarely found for less than £100. The set features the timeless Why I Came To California, a beautiful example of early 80s soul funk.

We interviewed Leon in advance of this release and it was thoroughly enjoyable. If you're interested, do please read the chat here: http://bewithrecords.com/i-wear-the-bed/

You can now pre-order the record on our site

Thanks for reading guys!

Welcome! A couple of humble suggestions/requests. Maybe edit your first post as only your instagram link is working at the moment. l Also, perhaps sound samples or YouTube links on your home page would be nice. Leon Ware (1982) is a smooth record, but not everyone is familiar with his sound. Lastly, do you or will you have any USA distribution? Cheers!

Hi Mateo!

Thanks for your suggestions - I guess we were too hazy this Sunday afternoon to get it all right first time. Think it's all sorted now...even popped a link in for Leon's finest moment.

Our distributor will be ensuring customers in the USA can get hold of our releases.

Our first releases are also available to pre-order on our site and discogs now.

Cheers!

Be With

Hi everyone,

Apologies for hawking our wares but we thought this would be of interest to you all: Ned Doheny - Hard Candy 180gram Officially Licensed Reissue

It's only our third release but it's an officially licensed 180gram reissue of Ned's Hard Candy - complete with full colour inner sleeve with lyrics. Out 1st September.

I don't get what 'Be With' stand for? Its like a request show for vinyl!

Maybe you should be less "what do you guys want and we'll see if we can get it" and more about "fuck yeah, this is the soundtrack I'VE always wanted released"

Hi Phil

Many thanks for your contribution to this thread - it is much appreciated.

Just to clarify, Be With Records officially licenses and then releases records that are currently unavailable or prohibitively expensive on vinyl. It's a straightforward proposition, we're sure you'll agree, and not in any way novel.

Quite simply, we are just another reissue record label putting out records we want to put out because we need them on vinyl and a lot of other people do too.

Everything we've so far released has been something that we thought 'FUCK YEEEEEAAAAH we'd like to see this released!' so you can rest easy on that front.

We have complete creative control and, far from a facile 'request show for vinyl' , we will only put stuff out that we want to, ultimately. Thankfully, judging by the great response from record geeks worldwide to our first three releases, we are on the right track.

Hey, suggest some records while you're at it - everyone else is!

Cheers

Thanks Be With

I wish you well. Personally i'm not a fan of the easy listening/smooth soul style but sounds like you are building a healthy fan base!

all the best!

Just wanted to say I got in my reissue copy of A Grand Don't Come For Free by The Streets...and it is great! Already knew it was a perfect album, but the reissue sounds awesome!

If anyone ever says that rap/hip hop is dead or uninventive...listen to this guy.

I would really love to grab the Doheny and Ware records...but the shipping is, as it is always is from the UK, killer to the states. $77 for 2 records is a bit steep for me...but I do love the releases! Awesome work on both.

Thanks guys, nice to hear positive feedback.

Unpopular Poet - Dusty Groove in Chicago has a few copies of The Streets left that will be priced much better for you in the States. Also, they are considering having a box of Ned's shipped over so I'm sure if you email them they may decide to act on it...

Cheers!

Very tempted to get The Streets' record, especially after ghostfire's comment....
