nice to see Bishara's name among that crop, i think he'll be one of those we talk about for a long time. I think his work with James wan is great, some of the best straight ghost stories to come out on film in a while.

I am new to this forum and a little late seeing this post/thread, BUT it means a lot to me to see such interest in my latest project...especially from true music fans. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I started working on the book over 3 years ago, so I'm thrilled to see that there is some interest in it...and that I'm not the only one in love with this type of music. It has been a long road...

Hatter, I started writing about music and film several years ago, when I was teaching a college course about the history of horror films...and the writing bug just bit me. So I wrote for various websites and magazines for many years, but the thing I enjoyed the most was interviewing people. The book is very exciting for me, because it really was just a passion project where I got to speak to all of these amazing artists and now it is a published book!

I guess my point is, if you think what you're writing about is interesting there are other people that will too. Scored to Death was a passion project, but it is also very much the byproduct of the fact that I wanted to read a book like this and I couldn't find one! So I just decided to write it myself...and now here I am on forum of people who also want to read a book like it. It is a beautiful thing.

Really enjoying the book. It was tempting to skip to my favourite composers first, but I held back and am reading the book as is. Good to learn about this subject and I now have so many new soundtracks to add to my wants list.

@Monsterworship: Carpenter comes across as almost jovial in his interview. Obviously caught him on a good day. ;)

Also enjoyed the Fabio Frizzi one - good to hear these guys are still loving & enjoying the music themselves many decades after they began.

The Q&A interview format means you can dip in and out quite nicely when you have a few minutes to kill.

Thanks to everyone that bought the book and to those of you sharing your comments about it here. I'm so glad you guys are enjoying it. I'm also glad the Frizzi interview is holding up for some of you. Given the nature in which it was done, I was very afraid that it really wouldn't hold up against the other, more in-depth, interviews. I'm glad people like that one. This is not the first positive thing I read about that specific interview. So I am relieved.

Regarding Carpenter's interview...I got VERY lucky with timing. I actually did 2 interviews with him. The first was about 6 months before he even announced the Lost Themes album. So I caught him at a time when not too many people asked him about his music. So he was open to it and for the most part, they weren't questions that he'd answered a million times before, etc. To be honest though, we did have much more fun doing the interview than I had anticipated. I think he genuinely had a good time. We laughed, etc...some of it didn't make it into the book, because it was not relevant to the topic and wouldn't really translate to print, etc. Just funny/fun little moments of conversation...which I will cherish forever. I was very intimidated to do that one, but it was great. The 2nd interview was done just before Lost Themes came out and by then he had talked quite a bit about his music for various magazines, blogs and websites.
