An Ode To Corner Bumps

Blissful fingers gently wielding
Edged blade tape unsealing
Boarded square boxed and tightly
Concealing hidden tales unsightly
Crushing dreams of nearest mint
Downgrade very good plus lament
The postman careless in his duty
Smashed all corners resolutely
Fingers now feeling wilted nubs
Angles deformed aghast unloved
Plying smoothing bending fruitless
The board resilient silent ruthless
A sigh escapes the prize with tarnish
Dreams unfulfilled no fix no varnish
Yet sunlight breaks upon the table
The board unstained the vinyl stable
A second glance all sides inspected
No seam split nor ink detected
The wax revealed now black as pitch
Grooves shining deep as Lucifer’s ditch
The needle reveals sounds unearthed
Flaws forgotten memories uncursed
A treasure found disaster stayed
Corners bumped yet music played
