Those Dagored guys are really spoiling us…

Released in 1973 and 1974 respectively, BLOOD FOR DRACULA and FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN (RED212) were interesting if not a little off-beat horror movies both of which were filmed in Italy.

The legendary Paul Morrisey directed with the assistance in more ways than one of Italian film maker Antonio Margheriti, with the productions being overseen by Andy Warhol.

The italian composer CLAUDIO GIZZI, with his romantic and harmonious themes, has created a dark and romantically laced score that worked very well within the context of the movie, the well know gothic tale of Dracula here directed in a not so conventional way by the genius of Morrisey and Warhol.

A powerful and subtle sound that supports and embellishes these stories with a very modern touch without being intrusive or overbearing like in many horror movies of the era. Finally available on high quality vinyl with a deluxe packaging.

@TAG
@DrRhythm

Oh god, yes, RSD... had almost forgotten.

Perhaps if we all open our own record stores/start labels like Spencer and TAG... then this obsession will at least be (presumably) tax deductible? ;)

Escalation is a huge pass from me - totaly pointless boring reissue of something that is still around and very easy to get...

Dagored are changing distributor in the US which is why LITA don't know about the new releases. They are going to be distributed by FE going forward.

hope they get it worked out soon. I don't want to miss the two gizzis.

I am on the fence about the escalation. I have the intermission / Galileo version from the 80s.

But I'm kind of obsessed with collecting the whole Dagored catalog. Ultimately I think I'll pass and wait for a second hand copy down the road.

@scentofdeath

Thanks for the link - this is one I've been waiting for after the original series score made my personal top 10 last year. Silva Screen teased this - but didn't confirm - on Twitter a couple of weeks back for RSD (pic below), so good to hear from the horse's mouth it's actually happening.

Interesting website too!

Still can't believe Channel 4 axed Utopia - the dunderheads (!) - but sounds from the link that Cristo may be working on the David Fincher US remake too, which is good news if I've read between the lines correctly... ;)

Yeah I saw that photo from Silva Screen but they didn't confirm anything except that Muppets release. It does look like a green vinyl is fit for the season 2 cover though.

Indeed, it became obvious to me when I saw the Forrest Gump and Dumb And Dumber soundtracks on vinyl. Definitely a lot of future dollar bin records being released right now.

@PaulZaza, aweful movies don't mean aweful soundtracks. I haven't heard that "Jupiter Ascending" OST, but I don't think you should judge a book by its cover...
