It wouldn't bother me that much, after all it's easy to pass on the cocktails, maze runners, E.T.s, Boogie Nights, etc. so it's not really a problem. I just wish it wouldn't make every actually good releases delayed though.

I honestly don't understand your hate against new soundtracks...we are on a forum created by labels which are famous for reissuing soundtracks on vinyl, and that's ok, but new music isn't ok? Are these movies so mainstream that the music it's supposed to be crappy?!? I like to listen to new stuff and many of these new vinyl are orchestral scores which are very very good! I prefer to listen and judge by myself but I honestly find some comments inappropriate...

@maxvelvet, nicely said. I don't quite get it either. I am someone who loves large orchestral scores and I'm glad Music On Vinyl is around to release some of the newer stuff. I haven't seen Jupiter Ascending but I did take a listen to the score on Spotify and thought it was pretty good. It may just end up in my collection.

No hate from me at all; I buy loads of new music and scores. But I also see nothing wrong with joshing about at the notion of folks being asked to shell out $25 for a reissue of Ghostbusters II (an LP I own) when a near mint copy can be regularly found for less than $5.

who you talking to Max ? me ? or the forum ?

Because I don't hate new soundtracks. But obviously a lot of re-issues are pointless (boogie Nights, Car Wash, Cocktails, Blues Brothers, National Lampoon's Animal House, Clueless tv soundtrack, ...)

@Nathan: no, it's just "pour parler", the word "hate" it's exaggerated I know, I was only referring to a pretty common way to judge some new releases as useless or crap without even listening to a second of music... anyway I don't talk about dollar bin records reissued for the 10th time, just new soundtracks! ;)

@phantomnoir
i watched both films maze runner and jupiter...they are complete garbage teenager movies and the scores are mediocre at best!
there is nothing special about them at all!
these are production line scores with composers on auto pilot!

this is only for those two movies, i have no hate against new stuff at all...can't wait for interstellar, birdman and so on!

I've ordered this direct from Amazon.com as it worked out waaay cheaper than Normans! About £29 shipped, as opposed to around £43!!

Greenwood's previous scores haven't been must-have for me personally, but I loved this one. Should be an interesting listen, as it's mixed with source music and is sequenced on vinyl as it appears chronologically in film. I like that.

Also - I'm sure there's a thread elsewhere but here's a short list of RSD titles I've spotted so far, from various blogs etc

SHOGUN ASSASSIN (Red vinyl w/poster!)
THE DARJEELING LIMITED (green vinyl)
MY NAME IS NOBODY
FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (10" /poster)
THE DAY AFTER HALLOWEEN (Brian May)
PATRICK (Brian May)
THIRST (Brian May - I wonder if this May-alanche is from Dual Planet?)
CHI? (Goblin 7")
FURY (die cut)
30 DAYS OF NIGHT (double red vinyl)
I'M HERE
WHIPLASH
FRANK

and TV stuff:

WALKING DEAD VOL 2
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
UTOPIA

Interesting list...most of these are hysterically unnecessary, but a couple will be well-received like Beetlejuice and especially Friday Night Lights. I still want that Tim Riggins Chevy 4x4 Hot Wheel haha

silence of the lambs i'll grab, since the original seems a little hard to come by and not all that readily available.

Beetlejuice is my favorite elfman score, and i've never seen one in the wild but i imagine its not terribly hard to find, but it will depend on price i guess.
