I guess that most of the participants on this forum own all or most of the wonderful Death Waltz releases. Therefore I'm a bit curious of which of the releases you like the best and the least. I'm not talking about packaging, remastering or artwork here but the MUSIC itself.

I'll start of with my (current) favourites, Halloween III and Maniac, and I have to say that my least favourite is They Live (which doesn't work for me at all).

So, what do you say?

My favorite so far is Halloween II. I'm a big fan of anything that Carpenter has done both in directing and musically.

Prince of Darkness is definitely my most listened to, that opening motif just does it for me. I'm yet to listen to Twins of Evil or Maniac just yet...so things may change.

Fabio Frizzi's Zombi score is fantastic... great mix of moody pieces, tribal percussion and some classic grooves. I'd been wanting a copy of his score for years - and have the 12" of reworked versions that Funki Porcini did in the late 90's...

It's also been a lot of fun to revisit films as the soundtracks roll out... have a copy of The Fog loaded into the dvd player right now - might watch that one tonight.

The Devil's Business probably gets the most plays here, with Let The Right One In. And the Halloween III flexi still scares the crap outta me

Escape from New York is my all time favorite. By any label.

Halloween III, 2nd LP of the Fog and The Devil's Business is my top 3

House by the Cemetery. Because:

- It's first time I've heard the amazing score stand-alone. Sound quality is crystal! Varied and fascinating
music, and clearly will serve as gateway drug to more Rizzati (and featured musicians) for me;
- First time on vinyl (I think?). Really wanna see more "originals" put out by DW and others!
- The Graham Humphreys art is fucking beautiful;
- The sleeve notes by Steve Thrower are fantastic and on-point;

All adds up to OST ecstasy for me!

Hey digitalsreams haven't you sold all your Death Waltz records on ebay? Think I bid for a couple.

Zombi 2 and Donnie Darko for me. I much prefer releases that haven't been pressed on vinyl before, as opposed to re-issues. I hope DW do more of these.

But Donnie Darko was already pressed on vinyl and to be honest it is a wonderful release, beautiful artwork on a gatefold sleeve and 180gr. vinyl! My fave DW release is Let The Right One In (I mean for the score) and the best release by far is without doubt Maniac!

Ah, you're right - I never knew Donnie Darko had been issued before! In that case, I revise my choices to Zombi 2 and Let the Right One in.

When was Donnie Darko issued on vinyl!!? I thought this was the first time (along with the US version on Everloving).

So a simultaneous release then to different markets - I think that counts as previously unreleased on vinyl - and you can put it back on your favourites list!

Honestly I didn't checked info about the year the Everloving release, I have this vinyl and it is written everywhere 2001 so I thought it was an old release. Anyway, checking better, there's something strange because wiki said that was released in 2002 by Everloving (cat. no. EVE003) and on Discogs an other album released by Everloving in 2012 is numbered EVE035.... uhm...

Escape From New York, hands down. It's the first DW release I got, mainly because I already loved the music. Zombie Flesh Eaters is next, as Sequence 8 kills it!

I was pleasantly surprised by The Living Dead At Manchester Morgue and the Yellow Soundtrack is very nice !
