I have one Italian cd compilation of crime movie music that is housed inside of a small hardcover book with either postcard-sized lobby cards, I think? I may be confusing it with another release. I'll have to dig it out to get the title.

It is a small book with numerous images from each film. The small lobby cards mentioned are from another label (spaghetti western & Italian horror comps).

I only have the 7" version. The score is really a collaboration between Osanna and the great Luis Bacalov. A really great film and superb score!

I'd love to see "Milano Calibro 9" get reissued! Also, the music for di Leo's "Il Boss" is excellent, too.

I thought this topic would get more responses. Gotta be some Italian crime fans here, right?!?

If any Italian crime OSTs were released now, limited to 350 copies with blood-splattered coloured vinyl, with a limited art print, you wouldn't stop hearing about it on this forum!

Have you tried Calibro 35 at all yet? An Italian band that fully embrace the Italian Crime scene, a bit of a favourite among rather a few of us on here andthis video rather helpfully recreates the opening sequence of Milano Calibro 9, to tie everything up rather neatly

I have the Osanna LP. It is not only my favourite soundtrack, If pushed, I'd say it is also my favourite LP. Calibro 35 do a version of Preludio on one of the earlier albums.

Even if I own a huge collection of dvds, books and memorabilia about this movies (I grew up with cop movies!) I don't own any of this soundtrack on vinyl; I have many good compilations on cd but I decided to don't start another expensive collection. My fave composer is Franco Micalizzi but I love also Bacalov, De Masi, De Angelis, Cipriani,... Here is just a shot of what I'm talking about...



P.S. of course Calibro 35 are my idols!

LOVE Calibro 35 and have all their releases (albeit on CD!). Thanks for posting that video. Pretty priceless! I also own Osanna's soundtrack for "Milano Calibro 9" on CD. One of my all-time favorites without a doubt. The Japanase CD re-release sounds fantastic.

I have Vol. 1 of the "Italia Violenta" & a giallo comp from the same label. I bought them from Xploited Cinema- man, I miss that site!

I use to have a burn of "Beretta 70" but I'm not sure what happened to it.

There's suppose to be a documentary about Italian crime movies that has been in the works for a few years. I hope it's still 'coming soon'!

Si, do you know of a US distributor of Calibro 35? 18 euro for shipping on a 17 euro LP is pretty steep. Thanks!
