Hey folks -
One of my other growing passions is for 'synthwave' music - a very broad term used to describe modern electronic music that sometimes includes a retro 80s flare.
I've been following different websites for the movement and downloading music from time to time; check out some of the following:

Great short! I liked that credits theme a lot, and thought the atmospheric stuff throughout was good. Well done!

I would say a lot of stuff from the Italians Do It Better label fall under this category. I would recommend checking them out if you haven't.

Honestly I like both but I think Symmetry's ideas were a bit better.

Johnny Jewel (Symmetry) has also done the score for Ryan Gosling's Lost River, which got a bashing at Cannes. No sound clips I could find yet.

This signature track from Dynatron is killer, the rest is composed by Jeff Grace and is also really excellent
Rights are held by Milan Records who are also represented on this forum.
A vinyl is sadly not in the works, let's get some push going to make this happen.

Ooh, I've been getting into a lot of the new synthwave stuff recently too, it's really OH MY GOD 88:88 IS GETTING A VINYL RELEASE I AM FAR TOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS.
No, seriously, I bought the VHS release of this album a couple of years ago and when I got the download I burned a CD that has literally not been out of my car since. This is one of my favourite albums of all time and I am so incredibly excited to have it on vinyl.

That Nightcrawler album is awesome, and Future 80s Records do seem to be putting out a lot of good stuff recently. I'm being a hipster and embracing the new cassette uprising too. Thanks again for the heads up!

FYI, Telefuture updated their facebook on 8/27 stating that 88:88 vinyl ought to ship mid-September.
