phil, I was thinking the same thing. I don't "get" the draw over the GotG soundtrack/records/tapes. To each their own, I suppose.

Any album with the word "variant" attached to it. Just sayin'...

for me, the GotG bit, at least the MONDO version, was more about the art piece than the music. (although as far as song/soundtracks go, i still think it was killer). i know that many here will condemn me for daring to admit that the aesthetics and packaging of a release have any merit against the sonic experience, but well...sometimes they do...

Really?? The new Floyd isn't any good? I honestly was excited about it because it's all instrumental...or at least for the most part.

Why is it so bad?? I've held off this long because it's outrageously priced on vinyl, and eventually they drop on Amazon/discogs. Should I not even buy it??

@ghostfires... wouldn't believe everything you read. Not especially a PF fan myself.. but the Pixies which they also slagged is one of my favourites of the year... so each to their own!

These sort of articles are just 'click bait' as one other poster remarked.

I got the new PF and I like it. I have always enjoy their instrumental stuff and that is basically all this is except for the last cut. the packaging is very nice and the vinyl is well pressed. If you are a PF fan and on the fence check it out on spotify before purchasing.

I like a lot of the early Floyd of course, but my favourite post-Sid album has always been Obscured by Clouds OST.

So there you go. Who knows, I may like the new one!

I think if you're a Pink Floyd completist then you should definitely get it. Why not, its probably quite nice to some folks ears. Not for me to argue peoples personal taste, to each their own.

My personal taste says theres a lot better music out than to ever feel the need to sit down and listen to this shit ever again!

That said I do remember its Syd and not Sid!!

I like the Pixies record as well, Spun. I bought the EPs when they came out. Frank rarely disappoints. And I'm a Meddle man when it comes to Pink Floyd, but I also put Momentary Lapse in my top five. *hops in trashcan, pulls the lid tight, peers out intermittently*

My first listen to Endless River resulted in a pretty disgusted snarl coming across my face...but my favorite PF album has always been The Final Cut, so in essence some would say I am more of a Waters fan than anything else...and yes, I do like Roger Waters Amused to Death!

The reissue thing has gone totally bonkers at this point, but I think it is a good thing -- I buy very few of the absurd Forest Gump type ones, but it also enables me to buy records that otherwise would have never seen the light of day, or would have been way to expensive to buy....like the reissue of Agitation Free's 2nd for instance.

Amused to death is a great album. I could listen to the old mans war commentary all day!
