Hi Guys,
I know a few of you have picked up the weme version of Valhalla Rising, could anyone help shed some light on the differences between that and the Invada release as I am not sure which version to purchase. On the Invada site it mentions that their version has unused queues, does the WeMe version also have this? Any comparison or help from anyone who has both/any version would be greatly appreciated. Just want to make sure I get the all round best version of the score.
Thanks

I only have the WeMe version, which does have all the cues by Giles Lamb and Douglas MacDougall. They are mixed in with the score by Peter Peter and Peter Kyed:

Although the Milan/Invada version was originally announced with the exact same tracklist as the WeMe, I actually thought it ended up only containing the Peter Peter/Peter Kyed score, which is why I have seriously considered getting that as well, as I would like to just listen to the Peter Peter/Peter Kyed score uninterrupted. The Milan/Invada version is also only 1 vinyl, whereas the WeMe is a double.
Looking at the Discogs page for the Milan/Invada version, it does not list the Lamb/MacDougall cues:

However, as you mention, they do write about the cues in the product description. Can anyone verify if the Milan/Invada version does indeed have the cues or not?

@Rasmus Thanks for the info on the WeMe release. Hopefully someone with the Invada/Milan version will be able to confirm the track listing for us. If it is different I dare say I will pick up both.

it's not the same tracklist. I have the Invada/Milan version. it's 1LP, less track. I'm at work so I can't check the exact tracklist etc but I can post pics tonight. I'v listened to it three times and I'm pretty sure it was just the score for peter peter and peter kyed

So basically Invada is wrong when they claim that "The vinyl contains the complete score, as well as unused cues and sections of the soundscapes which sound designers Giles Lamb and Douglas MacDougall created for the film." ?

Rasmus Drews is correct.
The record is actually on Milan records and we had a limited colour variant pressed exclusively for us - as Milan decided not to export from the states.
We took the info from the Milan press release - on the 'unused scores' which was for the cd and digital download version..
even though our vinyl comes with a download card - its the same track listing as the vinyl.
We have now rectified our press - release and in fact taken down the remaining copies for sale at the moment..
we have also sent digital downloads of the extra tracks to anyone that has come back to us and requested them...
a 'hold-our-hands-up' situation
