I have a lot of records that have paper inner sleeves but more and more I'm seeing poly sleeves.

Is there any benefit to changing the paper ones to poly ones? I'm guessing poly reduces static?

Poly sleeves do reduce static (a little). The problem with paper sleeves is you can get 'paper scuffs' on the vinyl. Poly lined sleeves are always better, but obviously it costs more to factor them into a record pressing (typically between 15-25p extra per unit).

My top tip if you really want to reduce static - get a cork turntable mat ;)

As someone who stores the inner sleeve outside of the actual cover (but inside the plastic outer sleeve), poly sleeves also have the advantage of not having the die cut hole where dust can get in and onto the record.
