Swert Jesus Marie. I didn't even know these sets existed. I don't know if I could bare to own one without the others and the cost of all three would be prohibitively expensive for me right now. God it's lovely.

EDIT: I may buy it anyway.

EDITEDIT: Sometimes I hate this place.

EDITEDITEDIT: I'm sorry, gang. I didn't mean it. I swear. I'll make it up to you. Just give me a chance.

haha you guys are the best.

now, here is a philosophical question for you: I admit to having bought the set solely as a way to get the LPs (i.e. I don't care about the numbered bag or keeping them grouped together), if I find I only love a few of them, is it blaspheme to sell the others and break up the set?

On my shelves, they will be broken up for sure (and filed by recording date) and the bag tucked away somewhere, but if I sell a couple, there will be no (reasonable) way for me to re-assemble the set for when I am lying on a slab and my kids are auctioning off the collection.

Nah, I dont think so jmctodo. These are warehouse finds of separately released LPs rather than a repressed box set. The bag thing was incidental. I bought them as an Umiliani fan and an easy way to pick up old LPs in stunning condition, for far less than half the price you would get them on discogs. If theres 2 of them you don't care for, that your money back. Its rare you can say a box set is worth more broken up, so crack on with the plan I say! :)

right, this is probably why I felt no compulsion to keep them as a set. thanks for the blessing!

I agree. The numbered bag is just something the store did, it's not something official in any way. Besides, who wants a bag on the record shelf...?

Agreed. I was thinking through this very thing late last night as my finger hovered over the purchase button. I would feel no pressure to keep this set together; particularly if there were an album or two that I didn't love. What I wouldn't give to have had a shot at the "ethnic" box.

My finger unfortunately pushed the button... Now I have to save on other vinyl purchases for the rest of the month :)

I doubt you will regret that decision Rasmus! I can only think they are still copies because it wasnt more widely known about.

So I got the "PIERO UMILIANI Lost & Found Volume III: The Ambient Records" today - ordered yesterday from Spain, got it today in Denmark (UPS), free shipping!

These are simply gorgeous and they sound great. I noticed that the spine is reverse than usual which might explain why these are stock finds and have been put out of circulation...

By the way, does anyone know: are all these records used as library music in movies?

I got my copy in the US today via the free shipping option too. based on this, I am very excited to buy more from soundohm in the future. now I need to find some time to spin some circles...

FYI, Black Sweat Records has (as of this past weekend) some copies of the third Piero Umiliani set and some extra singles from the first couple sets!

The 'Ambient' set is priced like it was on Soundohm (minus free shipping) and the singles are priced around what I would expect: below market rate but certainly informed by their value (between 40 and 70 euro depending on collect-ability). I already ordered my pick of the litter ($$$ Insanity!) but I have no idea how many copies of anything he had - if you are at all interested, drop him a line, he is super nice.

:) I also dropped him an email last week. I inquired if there were any of volume II still available. Unfortunately there aren't but he still has a few single lps left.
They seem reasonably priced for what they are, I wouldn't say they were insanity prices as many other umiliani records have.

Big thanks to oiche for spreading the news of these releases

Big guns on Discogs at the moment, for mad $$$,

- The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue
- L'Aldila
- Les Lèvres Rouges

I have both of them..but still waiting to pull the trigger on the daughters of darkness 7". It's so hard to justify that much cash for two tracks.

In theory, discogs is meant to warn you or something when you're listing something at WAY too high a price....hmmm, not sure that system is quite working! :O

Friggin ass hat. I hope their copy gets "enlarged holes and tight cracks"!! *
