Bridge Over Troubled Water

I've heard this album 1000 times and I've never heard it sound this good. I'm sure the One Step is even better but damn.

Static I have the one step and the second half sounds incredible but the title track is good but not amazing. Something about the original recording. You are probably good with that version.

Great album. Was really surprised by this, I couldn't get through the album he did right after his wife died, it was brutal

@Inksb-it's a great record that I didn't play for a long time it just kind of got lost in one of my bins over the years. I really like the song he did for The Cable Guy soundtrack that was released around the time this record was released, and I believe Real Gone Records pressed a vinyl of that soundtrack a few years back but they're a little too pricy in the resale market for me to pick one up.

I completely forgot he did a song for that movie. I'm gonna throw that on today

Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere

I've been obsessed with this album and band. For the folks around here there's a Tangerine Dream feature on it, psychedelic death metal album

I also enjoy this band quite a lot. Many comments about death metal album of the year for 2024. Also, check out that Rodney Matthews album title font. Highest of nerd points awarded here. Give this one a chance and you might be surprised, or not, but these guys are really pushing some boundaries toward prog/psych while still fkn ripping. Also recommend catching them live, if possible.

Funniest thing about this band that I connected some dots on lately is that I've been listening to their guitarist, Paul Riedl, ambient albums for a few years. He has released a handful through SFI Recordings. I was like oh shit I literally never read up on either artist and just listened to the music.

I would love to catch them live, hoping they do another NA tour after they finish the EU tour they are on right now

@inks - They also have a doom/death side project with a different drummer called Spectral Voice that I recommend checking out. Talented dudes.
