nice one-step.

I've taken my Mobile Fidelity collecting to the next level ever since I got a Mofi StudioDeck turntable.

Got a copy of the new (pricey) Superfly on the way.

Curtis is the jam, but I, too, need to know more about the Studiodek. And maybe you find the time to post a few pics? Or a video even? Help a fellow out with some turntable porn?

I had no idea what a MoFi Studiodeck was. I just went and found out, now I want one. Unfortunately I doubt I'll ever get one due to the cost but it seems like a pretty killer $1000 turntable.

Good one Chris. Sadly, I can no longer listen to this LP, due to a period of intense over-use (tied with memory of a particularly painful and equally intense dalliance with a young lady...)

Oh hey, friend. Feeling jaded, jilted, jaundiced, yet justified? Allow me to present option B:

This fits in between OST and non OST, but I’ve been doing a massive overhaul of my whole apartment and while I was reshelving all my stuff and moving furniture I was listening to Nicol Williamson perform the Hobbit. 4 LP, 1974.

I found it by accident, can’t even remember where I got it, but it’s a great artifact of the 70’s obsession with heroic fantasy. Williamson’s voice is so damn strange and unique. Highly recommend for any of you that are fans of this sort of thing.

@ScoJo, I can only hope that What's Going On comes back to you one day. It's one of very few albums where I feel confident that everyone must love it.

@static, I can't spring for that MoFi Marvin, but what's your take on Blood on the Tracks? I picked it up on both CD and vinyl. It's much less harsh than the standard release, and I go to the MoFi every time now. I've never heard the 'speed corrected' version of it - not sure how I'd feel having lived with it at it's 'normal' speed.

I have an original German import but it removed 2 tracks because of time constants. Finally got the MOV 2lp full release. Of course, coming from MOV, it sounds stellar!

@Chief I’ve had easily like 10 or so different pressings over the years of Blood on The Tracks. The Mofi is by far the best sounding of the bunch. I haven’t ever heard the CBS half speed so I can’t comment on that one either. Like you I’m fine with the speed as is :)

Static, is this $135 good? It's a terrific album, and it's really fucking expensive lol.

I will say, I lucked out and got a "super vinyl" copy of Miles Davis Kind of Blue. In fact, I got a source and bought a second copy. And am considering buying a third on the off chance it is also a super vinyl copy. Apparently a small slice of that release was a test run of the super vinyl compound. It is translucent and sounds fucking amazing. Even on my garbage equipment.

Tempted to go in on this Marvin release..

I'd pay over a bill for a Seeds of Love one-step.
