Great, now we have idiots starting politics threads. It will be religion next. This is a very bad idea.
There are plenty of other places to go on the net if you want to feel like puncing someone in the face, I would rather this wasn't one of them.
So if we're going in this direction this whole section needs to not appear unless you choose to go to it. The threads should not appear in the most recent list.

I also think a "General Chat" might not be such a good idea... Better to keep the forum somewhat focused.
And as lazyben mentions, I would hate to have to go through the most recent discussions list to get to discussions that are actually about vinyl.
