This has cropped up a few times in various posts and although I don't have any yet I want to start collecting some pieces for the kids to get into, although my 5 year old does love the budos band!

Thought it would be good to have a dedicated thread just for the little ones!

I know a lot of younger kids like the read-a-long story books, the comic related ones or movie themed ones (Grinch anyone?) Or are you looking more for actual artists/bands?

Of course, for the REALLY tiny babies, you GOTTA get the rockabye baby records! Those things are awesome. :D

I've got a Five Star picture disk. It's as lame as it sounds (somehow inherited it from my sister).

I recently acquired the soundtrack for the Rankin/Bass production of The Hobbit. I was hoping it was just the songs/score from the movie, but it turns out it's the entire audio from the film across 2 LPs. Came in a fancy box with a large booklet for kids to have something to read/look at while listening. I guess the original release also came with an iron-on and a pullout poster, but the one I got was missing both of those. Pretty neat.

Vinyl now playing list - for kids, guess I'll be keeping this thread busy as I take it in turns with my daughter :)

Sorry if you find this all irrelevant to the forum but cheers phil it's good to have its own thread. I wish I still had my Spider-Man and Hulk 45's and tapes

That Peter Pan picture disc is gorgeous. Latest kid-friendly purchases I've made have been the Dream Stone soundtrack and the 7" of the Dogtanian theme song. I actually squealed when I found the Dogtanian one on eBay.

The Disney records that Dagar is referring to is a sure shot for kids. For adolescents I recommend the Power Records. There were a lot of fun titles with 'incredible' voice acting:

You can still pick up the majority of these records at comic shops or records stores for less than $10 U.S.
