Can any of you US folks answer this?
If you miss a delivery, how long will the postal service generally keep your package before returning to the sender?

It's around 2 weeks. There have been times when I've received the final warning notification card without ever having received an original missed delivery card.
My post office's latest trick is to have a separate line to collect these packages and the rest of the staff won't assist even if there are no people in the main line so all they're doing is standing around talking to one another. Wankers.

Ahh damn, so they're worse than I thought. Thanks though.

OK, so I might be a little off on the 2 weeks. I had a poke around on the USPS website and it depends on the mail type. It looks like it's 15 days for most things but might actually be 30 days for "foreign origin international mail". Let's see if this link works.

Thanks Ben - I suppose I should've just gone to the USPS site to start with.
