What is everyone's experience on an acrylic platter as opposed to "just" an anti-static slipmat? I have to get something - my mat constantly sticks to my vinyl.

If I go acrylic, would I need a mat at all?

Any thoughts are appreciated and I'm in no big rush! I'm spinning on a Pro-Ject Carbon debut if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

@voodoo
I recently did the same upgrade. I'm no audiophile and I've just been listening for pleasure not comparison, so I'm not the best judge of sound improvements.

However, I've had no regrets and removing the annoyance of sticky mats alone was worth it. I don't know where you are, but I got mine (Pro-ject acryll-it) delivered from Amazon.it for about £55, which was about half the price of most UK stockists. Worth having a look around.

Edit: no mat with the acryllic platter either, which was bad timing for me as I bought a DW slipmat just days before finding the acryll-it so cheap.

Thanks for the acylit headsup chiefbrody 87 USD shipped to Texas is a hell of a lot better than most places. Worth finally trying this out.

Glad to have helped @james, let us know what you think. I'm definitely happier with mine than the stock platter.
