If anyone here is interested in reading, Modern Vinyl interviewed me and featured it for their Collector Of The Month article on their website. I briefly go over a little of my collection, and why I listen to what I do...with some focus on soundtracks. Theres even a pretty shot of the Mondo Maniac color vinyl!

Thanks for that - I enjoyed reading it. Lovely photo of your son with a copy of Fordlandia too!

I have that Eluvium boxset too, bought direct from Temp Residence upon release. Amazing package. You should get the Basinski box (if you don't already have it).

Quick question: where the hell did you get a polythene sleeve big enough to fit the Life Through Bombardment set?

Great interview -- I am definitely jealous of your copy of Life Through Bombardment...something I meant to grab, but didn't. Oh so foolish of me. I keep looking at it on discogs. Maybe today is the day I buy it!

Nice! My Enigma equivalent is OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark) - early releases had multiple cut-out covers and I'm still looking for the odd missing one!!

Always great to read about other folk's musical passions - creates a useful perspective and comparison to personal obsessions!

@re-animated cat - I bought the oversized slips at Waterloo Records in Austin. Next time I'm in I actually have to pick up several more, I can check and see what the bag says...find out the size and the manufacturer, if it would be of any help to you. Also, I do plan to get that Basinski box set, I most definitely love the music and the set looks incredible..it's just SO pricey!

@unpopular poet - definitely get it while you can! It is such a beautiful package, and absolutely worth the money. The music is of course amazing, and from all the reports I read - this was the only time it was ever going to be put to vinyl. I'm sure one day some how they're repress, but who knows when or if truly.

Thanks so much for all the great compliments you guys! I really appreciate your feedback, and for taking the time to read. It's exciting to talk about records and music any chance I get, and I'm really happy to know others read it and enjoy what I had to say, and like some of you said...identify with some of the things I say.

@Ghostfires, that would be a great help. I've been looking for a sleeve like that for years. My copy is still in it's original bubblewrap on my shelf! If you can find one that fits LTB at Waterloo Recs, is there any chance you'd be willing to ship it over to me? I'd cover the costs, of course. If not, no worries, the manufacturer will do just fine :)

@unpopular poet: I agree with Ghostfires, this is the most beautifully packaged boxset I've ever seen. It's incredibly well done. I actually don't think it will ever be repressed - it's far too much effort and expensive to do it again. Also, I don't think it would sell out a second run.

Thanks jmctodo, but the boxset we're talking about is particularly large. I don't think it would fit one of those sleeves - it's about 2 inches longer in length. Thanks though. :)

@re-animated - yeah sure, no problem at all. I'm not sure when I'll head over there, probably in the next couple of days. I need to buy a few myself, so I can pick up some for you and mail them off. I'll let you know when I've got them. No problem at all!

yowzers, that wouldn't even fit on my shelf. it sounds like really would drive the organizer in me bonkers.

@jmctodo - hah! It fits on my shelf perfectly, luckily. If you think that one is bad, try the damn Aphex Twin Drukqs long box edition! It can't find anywhere, and no sleeves cover it either. It drives me insane. The music makes it worth it of course, but damn does the long box suck.

glad I never succeeded in scoring a copy of Drukqs then. ;) my Analord binder fits thank goodness.

I recently sold a Silent Servant box for exactly these reasons. if it isn't on my main shelf, it becomes 'out of sight and out of mind' - and at the cost, it wasn't worth it for me (especially since I already had the music in normal 12" sleeves already).

I have problems.

@ghostfires: thanks man, that'd be great! Though I only need one. Just drop a message here and your email address and we'll sort something out. No rush. Thanks again, that's really cool of you :). Now if I can just find something similar for my Basinski box...

Excellent interview! Just spent 45 mins perusing your Instagram photos and I think I just saw all the 1500 pieces of vinyl...VERY IMPRESSIVE! You and layneharvey...two peas in the "I get all the cool color vinyl variants" pod...yowza!

@hncreature - thanks for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have been very lucky with color variants! I always try to go for them simply because my son loves to check out all the different colors, and hold it up to let sunlight pass through...it's just a fun experience. I know they aren't the best in terms of perfect audio quality, but hell...I don't have a great system anyways, so what difference does it make for me anyways?

I definitely will not be trying hard at all this year when it comes to variants from Mondo. I will still buy what I can from OWS, DW and Waxwork...as long as I actually enjoy the music on the record.

Thanks to this thread, I was convinced that it was finally time to get a copy of Life Through Bombardment....arrived yesterday....can't believe I waited this long. Simply amazing.

@re-animated cat - I have your box set sleeve! Want me to email you for your address?

@unpopular poet - I'm glad you were able to find the LTB box...it is really amazing, and a damn fine set to have in any vinyl collection. Every single record is worth several repeats each time you play. Back then he simply never wrote/recorded a bad song.

Hey, that's awesome, thanks a bunch for picking that up! I found your email in one of the old threads, so I'll send you one in a minute. :)
