@si - if it is USPS, they are notorious for not updating the last destination before an item goes abroad, until it is received abroad and scanned in. and sometimes even that is not enough to warrant an update. you may have it in your hands and STILL have it say it is in chicago.

Am still waiting for mine...which will no doubt, be the standard clear. I ordered from Piccadilly Records, but they keep pushing the date further back. First it was 27th Jan, then 10th Feb...now it says 17th Feb...very frustrating and I probably should cancel it and get it from elsewhere.

This is true! I'd assumed they'd got their act together a bit as everything I've ordered from the US of late (a lot! Shhh) has been tracked right through which is generally a bit of a first.
TBH I think that there's a general holdup in getting stuff out of the States at the moment which would also explain why Picc Recs haven't got theirs in either (so I'd hang on a few more days before cancelling, horseloverphat). It's frustrating, but it's a problem that only time is going to sort out. My "to listen to" pile is bloody massive at the moment anyway!

I told myself when it went on sale that I was only going to get one copy, and stick with whatever I got. I ended up with the double sided, which is amazing. Seeing all the pictures of the haze and even the clear, I just couldn't help myself. After seeing Kevin say they have some of the haze left, I placed another order with a note asking for it since he mentioned it here. I also got a clear copy from my local shop today. It's definitely a release to get all three versions of. If my second order ends up being a clear, I don't think I'll go to eBay to grab it, but I'm sure I'll be tempted.

I have to say Kevin, your releases are right up there with DW as being top notch in all aspects, I really can't wait to see what you do with the Friday The 13th scores when those are released.

It was mentioned in an interview Kevin did a while back. He's doing the first three films, as their soundtracks were never released on vinyl, only a compilation of the first three films.

Creepshow is next apparently, then I think these may follow.

Rosemary's Baby is a revelation!

I've always loved the original DOT/Paramount LP, and somehow never picked up that it was a session recording for the soundtrack release rather than the original score.....Waxworks new version is setting me straight!!

Just taking the theme for example: it's pretty much the same arrangement and vocal take in both, but the orchestration is very different. The film version is darker, creepier...the DOT version in comparison now almost seems to have an "Odd Couple" lightness to it (Harmonica!! Vibraslap!!) I still really like it mind you....it's just a very different beast in comparison...you can almost hear a "TV" feel to it, I'll bet dollars to donuts that Paramount had a team of sessioners for the recording from their regular television stable, or somesuch. Be great to find more info about the two different recordings/players.

It's certainly gonna be fascinating comparing the two versions in more depth so huge thanks to WW for making this release happen. It's incredible.

The test press? No, it was from Ebay a long time back - I managed to scratch my precious copy of the Harkit lp (bootleg?) and lucked out finding the test press pretty cheap! But that soundtrack really needs to be done properly - Harkit lps, as fun as they are, are almost always "just about okay" stop gaps really. Similarly, I have their "Klute" release, and that's another back catalogue (Michael Small) that really needs plundering!

Hate to cost you more money but there's also a limited clear haze version, making it a total of 4 versions. I only planned on getting one too but now that I have the split and the black/burgundy I'm tempted to go for the others. Here are some pics of a friends clear haze copy.

I Picked up two and got the 200g double sided and one of the hazed clear also. They look fantastic. Didn't realize until i saw @hugeworm2014's post that the haze wasn't the clear they advertise on the front of the record.
