AAAAAND there was a guy there selling vintage turntables. i decided to go with this one, a Pioneer PL-600, as opposed to a brand new fancy one. this one sounds great, has a new belt and a new empire cartridge, fully serviced - paid $60:
on top of all of that, when i got home from the record expo yesterday, this was sitting on my desk, having arrived in the mail earlier in the day:
and while in urban outfitters using the photo booth (i love photo booth pics), we perused the sale section and i found this lovely thing for $9.99 on clearance:
and finally, while i did not purchase this, i thought it was a neat record player. linear track (i know there are strong debates about these types of turntables), but this one sat vertical, worked like a charm and sounded very nice:
