Honestly I still have to watch the movie and I heard so mixed opinions about it that I prefer to judge myself. We all hope for the resurgence of the Italian Giallo and the last movie from Zampaglione (Shadow) was a good starting point in the nothingness of the last years... The soundtrack is anyway really good and I don't think it should be penalized from a crappy movie. About what Alan Jones said (I respect him so much) it is a real...GIALLO, maybe he referred to Tulpa as another "Giallo" (the 2009 Dario Argento's movie....) :D

Of course you should watch it and judge for yourself , I saw it with 1400 genre fans and the place was in uproar. The only way they could save that film is to market it as a comedy. Unfortunately the score could be a masterpiece and I still couldn't buy it... but that's just me.
He said he thought this would revitalise the genre... it didn't :(

Now I'm definitely curious! One of the last (or the last!) good movie of this genre was NonHoSonno by Argento (of course in my opinion) but I really really hope that things will change in the future.

Recently completed this set of Spaghetti Western double LP compilations (although there may be a volume 5 coming?). I LOVE these releases! Great selections from one of my favorite soundtrack genres.

Some great recent releases from mondo playing to death - hard to choose between them.

Had to get this one too - went for black. It's fantastic! most likely get DW version as well just couldn't wait to hear it :)

Tracked down a few oldies

On a recent trip to Copenhagen to see Tangerine Dream picked up these two, was given Logan's run for free! The guy in the shop said it was a must have, and he wasn't wrong.

Ahh and the blue ;)

these arrived today, looking forward to spinning them this weekend. A shoutout to @static14 for putting me on the trail of April Fool's Day and Deadly Friend and for recommending Alfred Hitchcock

How is the packaging on that Hitchcock set? I'm tempted, but it looks a little cheap in the few photos I can find.

Mason, the packaging is pretty good. My only concern is the spin that holds the 2 gatefolds together is thinner than the rest of the jacket. The rest is great. The 4 lps are 180g and come in anti-static sleeves like the DW releases; only white. Here are a few more photos.

this next pic shows the 2 gatefolds and the strip of cardboard holding them together it's not the same weight as the gatefolds. This would be my only issue with the package.

Finally got to do some long overdue soundtrack digging at Cheapo in Minneapolis yesterday. My neck hurts from looking at a 90 angle for about 45 min. Not overly successful but I found these ...

John Barry - The Black Hole
Jerry Goldsmith - Damien Omen 2
Ken Thorne - Superman II (cool etched vinyl)
