I've never read anything by Michael Slade. This is the second book in the Special X series. I've been putting this one off in the hopes of a used copy of Headhunter showing up at my local used shop. I've got tired of waiting so I'm diving into this one.

I've got a copy of Headhunter I just boxed up a month ago. Wouldn't be any trouble to dig it out and send it your way.

Started this one yesterday. I like T.M. Wright but I don't always upderstand or get what he's trying to do. And sometimes I have to be in the mood for him since he is very subtle with his horror at times, which is what I need after Ghoul. :)

Another re-read as I continue to clean my bookshelves and decide what I really want to keep and what I can let go of. I read this when it first came out back in the late 70s. I remember it being fun and enjoying it. Alligators in the sewers, whats not to like. Not sure it's something I'll hold onto after this read but I do like the cover.

Came to post about a book publishing in July a few here would be into. The Sounds of Lost Futures: British Musical Hauntology by Jamie Sexton. Publishing July 7th on Reaktion Books. I don't think I've ever successfully submitted an image here so I'll just drop the link below. Looks promising:

About half way through this one. It's OK. Hoping the second half will pick up. Not enjoying it as much as my previous 3 Brandlers: Quitanao Roo, The Brain Eaters, and Carrion.

Finished Floater by Gary Brandler, it was OK. I enjoyed the previous Brandler books more.

I recently found this company who are reprinting old horror paperbacks. Decided to give this shark one a try, in August they are doing Joyride which I'll grab as well

The original Zebra paperback of RipTide passed through my collection when it was released. I don't remember anything about it. Not sure what the reason was for letting it go. Most likely needed the shelf space. Let us know what you think.

I'm revisiting James Herbert's Rat trilogy. I wont be reading them back to back but starting the first one today.
These are the two editions I have. A NEL hardback reissue from the 80s and the Centipede Press limited edition (300 copies) from 2015.
The jacket from the Centipede is pretty nice. Hard to catch it in the mylar jacket.

I've decided to dive into F. Paul Wilsons Secret History of The World reading list starting at the beginning. This will take me a while since I'll be reading other stuff between these books but I think this will be fun. I've been wanting to reread The Adversary Cycle and the Repairman Jack novels so I figured why not read everything in the timeline order Mr Wilson has posted on is website. For the first round I plan on reading everything up to Black Wind.

I really like F Paul Wilson. It's a long series but the Repairman Jack books are really good. Especailly when they start to really tie into the Adversary Cycle. I recommend you check out his page
