If you have DW specific problems (e.g.. Lumps in your record) them e-mail us so we can take care of it ...

Otherwise can this black vs coloured convo go somewhere else ?

It's not even a conversation that needs to take place on the DW thread as we now offer black vinyl as well as coloured ..

Over it ;)

Yeah but I am a sucker for the inserts and booklets!! I love em! My last LITA order:

I did e-mail about the Bronx Warriors but after 1 reply I never heard anything else and I got too antsy waiting. I was able to return it to the retailer I bought it from and a decent eBay seller was selling it for the same price buy it now (+shipping). I am still waiting on that copy to arrive and I don't expect any issues. Are there still Willy Wonka tickets out there?? Maybe I will get lucky!!

Just to reiterate... I got nothing but love for Death Waltz and the work you do. I know you are a small operation with a lot on your plate. I don't want to come across as disgruntled or anything...

I actually did email your company but didn't receive a response. Your "over it" comment is slightly annoying, but ultimately it's my fault for not doing more research. I've purchased coloured vinyl in the past that sounds outstanding. Perhaps you should inform potential customers if you know that splatter vinyl is most likely going to sound terrible. I just don't understand why you would have records pressed if they're not meant to be played. Why not manufacture plastic, coloured discs to hang on the wall?

Was yours on Side 2, first track? Just curious.

Black Vinyl has the black added to it. Isn't vinyl clear in its purest form?

I have a picture disc that's virtually unlistenable, but the DW stuff has been absolutely fine, apart from the Perfume of the Lady in Black I had on RSD. The replacement was fine.

I am a new subscriber - I know that City of the Living Dead is part of the sub, but what about the newly announced Godzilla? Are only certain releases part of the subscription? (Not that I'm bothered, as I'm pretty sure it's all going to be good stuff whatever it is.)

@flapdoodle City of The Living Dead and Godzilla are both part of the sub. There will be (at least) one release that falls outside of the sub, but subscribers will get first crack at it. Spence does a stellar job taking care of subbers :)

I should say subscriber and sub more...

Is the restriction on the sale of the Godzilla album only for the United States, or does it apply to North America?
I'm in Canada, can I go ahead and pre order?

I thought we were talking about mastering, interesting subject I thought. Oh well.

So what exactly are we supposed to talk about in this thread then? Just how much we love DW?

@revolver - No shipping to the US, not sure about Canada. You can pre-order from somewhere like Norman Records though (great shop!), they will ship worldwide. :)

@revolver The last time there was a release with a region restriction (Maniac), sales were allowed to Canada. If you're talking about ordering from DW directly that is.

I referring to the whole black vs coloured vinyl debate ....

It seems like there's a lot of stuff being repeated in the forums now , which is not suprising as this topic has turned into a monster one, perhaps it might be time to add some sub topics within some of the labels , ie one for each new release as it's announced and stickied FAQ at the top so we hav less of the same questions,

Splatter is not inferior ..
Any vinyl can have defects even black ..debris can get in the manual press so occasionally you get lumps and bumps
I was talking about the constant argument that occurs about black vs coloured.
The only effect that really has known problems is haze which is why we haven't used it since the Fog which is a shame as it's my personal favourite effect ...

Drop me an PM with your email ...
I've just got back from the US and in and out of the doctors this week so may have missed your email. If you need a replacement we'll get you one out :)

Oh and djfancylad my over it comment was not directed at your specific problem it was a slightly tongue in cheek (hense the smiley) line about this debate that comes up every month or so.
I have been buying vinyl for 30 years and producing it for 18 years this whole debate was never really discussed until vinyl became collectible and the internet was born ...
This is the problem I have here, I like being on the forum but I don't seem to be able to have any banter because people think I am being dismissive when I am not.

I just thought that if folks want to have this conversation then start a seperate thread for it as this should be genral talk about the label.....

Sorry if you took my remark the wrong way....

@deathwaltz - that last part is interesting, because a few times I've been tempted to comment on the tone of some remarks on here.

I think it's in the nature of such boards that if you are hanging out as a
fellow enthusiast (but also rep the label which set up the forum), people can get a bit weird. Most other current OST labels are choosing not to have a personal presence on the forum (even Seb/OWS tend to keep things quite business-like!)and it also appears it's in your nature not to BS. From my angle, that seems to give peeps with gripes of one kind or another (ie the thing that the tinternet/boards were invented for!) a sitting target. If it helps at all, it can also be pretty weakening to witness that stuff sometimes.....

I have a possible solution though - secret identity!!! ;)

Maybe I should step away and just post press releases and release information ?

that'd kinda stink if you had to take a step back. :(

No way spencer, for me that's what makes death waltz stand out from the rest the fact your willing to engage and interact with folk rather than just sit back and not give a shit. Whether it be praise, a recommendation. A question or even a complaint least your interacting.

It all depends on how much of a bummer it is for you to deal with that stuff really, young padwan. But, y'know - if it aint fun....

I second @static's sentiment however.

I think it would be a shame for you to move away from the forum, have always appreciated your opinion on here on all matters not just deathwaltz related stuff

I've not seeing Spencer get any abuse here - what are you guys referring to? I think overall this is a really friendly forum. A few complaints here and there are inevitable, that's just how it is. You don't want a forum that's just full of kiss-asses either, that's equally as boring.

If I were you Spencer, I'd just get stuck in more and stop worrying about it too much. It'd be a real shame if you had to step back. :)

You can talk about how much you hate us too ;)

Mastering is an intersting subject but I think it got derailed , I sat in on a cutting session last month in Czech and it was super interesting actually.

And to clarify sorry - when I said "the tone of some remarks on here" I was specifically referring to comments by forum members towards you, not the other way round! Looking at it, it could appear I was saying the opposite!

Now that does sound interesting! Would love to hear more about that. You sat in at GZ?
