I DJ'd in Brussels last night and hung out with Seb during the day

We went record shopping.

Some od these are doubles (for my lady) some are just different cover art ...

All are great :)

It's a bit of a weird experience, and some of it works better than others - the twirly hologram thing is rather lovely on the plus side, and having Side A play from the inside out is nicely silly. Side B also looks really cool if a little confusing initially as it makes it hard to see where the run-in groove is, although that does then work well with the dual-groove intro. The choice of intros comes with its own doings though, as there's an audible 'click' when the two converge. The locked groove on Side B doesn't really work too well either as it doesn't really run onto itself too well (as opposed to something like The Other World Of The Soundcarriers which is so sneaky that even now if I'm drunk enough it can be a good half hour before I notice).

The bonus tracks I'm not arsed about. For a product that essentially shows how cool the vinyl format can be, to then have to remove the centre labels (ie, damaging the thing) seems to be a bit of a weird thing to do, even if I could play 78s...

Ooh - and while I'm at it, what's the deal with the download card? I didn't have to provide my full name, date of birth, postcode and email address (all of which are mandatory fields) when I bought the record from a store, why should I have to do this to receive the download? It's more than my poor tinfoil hat can bear...

Going to throw it on tonight! All their reissues sound great so I'm sure this will be no exception.

Great stuff Phil, but I think the non-OST related stuff should be in the other 'latest purchases' thread (which I'd love to see more activity on).

Went to a vinyl fair today and picked up Waxwork's Re-Animator, sealed, for £20 and also Highlander 2 :)

So many great buys from everyone recently, love seeing all of these records :)

That Highlander 2 cover looks like a musical about a high school talent show...in space!

Went to a local Flea Market and found a few good records, especially at only $30 for the lot.

Also picket this up off Ebay from a Canadian seller for only $20, new and sealed. Been spinning it every day for about a week straight. Too bad the Grace Jones song she did during her striptease was omitted. Good OST (and movie!) nonetheless.

@Ptflea - Vamp is one I've been looking out for. Big fan of the film, sad to hear Grace Jones is not on the disc though, she was a key part of the movie and is always great to hear!

I found John Carpenter's Dark Star at a local shop for $30. Is that a good price for that one?

While out, I did pick up Close Encounters of the Third kind. I wish my local shops had the treasures that some of you find.

Thanks to StrangeVices previous post and my own distinct lack of willpower I've spent the last hour perusing www.btf.it and came away with these! :o I'll put up proper pics when they arrive but here they are for now! Suspiria is the pop-up purple vinyl edition btw :)

Thanks, I've not been collecting for so long so this haul actually represents my first Umiliani, my first (and 2nd) Morricone and my first Goblin soundtrack! :o

oaxaca: Good choice! That was my first Umiliani as well and it got me hooked. Great stuff.

It's a bit surprising that those limited colorways haven't sold out yet, since they came out 7 months ago are limited to 100 copies...

Finally got round to picking this one up, one of the less popular ones. The 'lost' record. Classic TD ! Very mellow.
