as an aside, I am wondering if someone with the power could rename the two 'latest purchases' threads to clearly mark which is the OST one and which is not? the way that the Wordpress forums look, it is pretty hard to tell which parent forum they are each in.

(and sorry @purplemule that this request comes right after your post, you are not alone!)

No worries, I was torn about where to post it... : )

in my opinion, I think the two could be combined and we just have one Latest Purchase thread and whatever one wants to share is posted in it. The Now Playing thread is open to all, not just OSTs.

I'd actually vote to split that one as well. :)

Though when I say "OST" and "not OST," I would be pretty broad in what that means, maybe 'soundtrack and releated' and 'not soundtrack related?'

Basically, I think the soundtrack stuff is the common thread binding this forum. To me, the other stuff is much more hit and miss as to whether it is relevant to me - so I am hoping to increase the signal to noise ratio for me and for folks coming here to discuss soundtracks and related things.

Good point. It is a soundtrack vinyl forum as oppose to a vinyl forum.

Who cares if i like this or that. the common denominator is soundtracks

I'd have to go with JMC on this one too, if it came to a "binding resolution from the UN" ;)

It was just a thought. I don't post that much in the Latest Purchase thread anyway and I am more than willing to post only OST related in the Now Playing thread.

Soundtrack to a Fonda film by Charles Bernstein and (according to IMDB/various web sources) Bruce Langhorne, though I find absolutely no mention of him on the sleeve. So either Bruce composed incidental music which was left off the LP, or he plays (& arranges?) on the CB cuts....god I'd love to know the answer!

Thanks to @tonyandrewgiles for jogging my memory that I really needed this one. Love it.

Thanks to another forum member, @Darell, I also remembered I couldn't live another moment without Vince Di Cola's cues "Training Montage" and "War". Stirring stuff!

A right odd one this - but a whole lot of fun. Has anyone else seen the film? Even by Robert Altman's early 70s standards, it's just downright peculiar.

Thanks to yet another forum tip-off (sorry, can't recall who) this finally comes to me from Norman Records at a bargain price :D

And the real jewel of the bunch for me....a grail indeed. Is this just one of the greatest western scores EVER or what? I remember a long while back, good brother @Static kinda warned me that this edition was a bootleg, so at the time I wavered hoping I'd come upon an original for sensible bucks. Hmm, no such luck. So I saw this (again at a bargain price) and went for it. It's sounds pretty great actually - I've compared the sound to AIFF files ripped from a CD on my mac (ripped before I purged all of my CDs) and it holds up really well IMHO. I'm just sooo happy to finally have this gorgeous grungy score in my collection. I'm breathing a big happy sigh y'all :)

Damn it Discosucks, even when I feel like I've outdone my hipster-self with my Highway Superstar cassette tape and shirts, you have to go and out do me with your super hipster-self and pull Brewster McCloud out of your bag.

If we had to wait for the UN, it'd take months and Russia & China would still say no. So I'll do it myself in a bit (tea first!)
