Thanks for the detailed update discosucks, I'll take the plunge and order a copy - I'm sure I'd kick myself if I didn't. I adore François de Roubaix, and so I really shouldn't miss this one.

My pleasure diabolik - you won't regret it ;)

I'm watching a couple of copies of the original Barlcay "Les Levres Rouges" EP just now - but
I know it's probably going to go for big $$$s, it always does :(

@Discosucks -

Hey, just wanted to note I picked up Only God Forgives from a local record shop today (July 17).

Purplemule74 - oh, that's odd. I literally just "pre-ordered" mine from Invada. Their site does say "only shipped when it's universally available, courtesy of our friends Milan", and I now recall that I ordered the Stoker vinyl from them and had to wait forever for them to get stock. <sigh>

Discosucks -

The record store clerk I bought it from said they would be receiving 3 more copies very soon; this is Zia Records in Phoenix AZ at the Thunderbird/I-17 location. The telephone number for that location is listed on their website.

I don't know if you can cancel your order, but if Zia will ship to you it might save you a long wait. They are asking $28 for it which is a few bucks less than some other places (like Amazon).

Thanks Purple one - I'm actually in the United Kingdom ;)

I guess I will stick with Invada - I get the extra compensation of 6 extra digital only tracks thanks to ordering from them, so I'll just strap in and see how long I wait this time!

rhos, thanks! I'm all over this - really pleased they have somewhat different sleeve from the Melodiya original release (and the unofficial bootleg version) though it still uses the Italian poster art.

I'll be adding it to the two other versions I have of this astonishing score:

and one day (when I'm very flush!) I hope to be able to snag the beautiful Japanese edition ;)

Hey Disco -

Well if there is drama getting a state-side release sometime (like the drama of getting some DWRC stuff in the U.S.) give me a heads up and maybe I can help ya out.

Probably the U.S./U.K. release schedule was a little different I'm guessing on that Only God Forgives LP drop.

As I just discovered tonight, getting the LP through Amazon doesn't get you the six extra tracks that are available digitally and on some CD versions. However, you can get the tracks through Emusic if you have an account.

Why thanks, that's very kind - and I'm happy to buddy up likewise if I can help the other way :)

What I REALLY need just now is for these labels to stop putting out ESSENTIAL stuff for at least a short while, so that I can keep a shirt on my back! It's been an insane half year for OST releases on vinyl! (and I really have less spare cash than I have enthusiasm :0

Amazing news, thanks to heads-up by a fellow forum member:

- SOLARIS / Eduard Artemyev (Mirumir) 180g
26th July

Norman Records have it for pre-order. This one is essential.

Amazing indeed, made my week when I saw this was due. Been after this soundtrack since I first heard a track on John Xela's Boomkat mixtape CDR some 10 years or so ago - never thought I'd see one I could afford. How much does the Japanese version go for if it comes up - can't find any sales anywhere?

hey rhos, the Japanese goes for anywhere around 80 Euros upwards - here's a recent relatively-bargain one!

They do pop up with seeming regularity on Le Bay....gotta have one, the sleeve art alone is beautiful (I'm a sucker for silver...) ;)

Agreed, possibly a nicer cover than the reissue but at that price differential I'll settle for the latter. I see a Japanese copy up for sale on eBay now at $300 - somewhat rich for my tastes I'm sad to say. Spend far too much on records as it is - don't need to be explaining to the family why there's nothing to eat for the rest of the month. Would have a nice record tho' :-)

Again, just in case anyone missed it:

SOLARIS OST by Eduard Artemyev (Reissue by Mirumir)

Norman Records now have them in stock (they tell me mine shipped today ;) Original copies
(even the later bootleg) go for bucks, so you need this truly seminal electronic soundtrack to the Tarkovsky masterpiece, created with the amazing ANS synthesizer:

I ended up ordering one, even though I have a bootleg CD soundtrack on Toei. Do you know if the new LP is the same music as the older boot?

Thank you for sending the link. The LP has 17 tracks, and so does the CD. A quick scan of the track previews sounds pretty familiar. My guess is that it's the same, although the CD is mono.

So exciting - was awaiting me this evening. Sticker on the front states:

"FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER
Fully licensed by Edward Artemiev
Remastered in 2013
Gatefold with unreleased photos by courtesy of Tarkovsky Archives"

And there's a special thanks to Andrei Tarkovsky Jr.

Compared to the Melodiya bootleg, Toei CD and Greek double LP (with seven tracks from Solaris), this
edition sounds fantastic!
