It wasn't meant to be harsh, hence the winking smiley face and the comment we're all still learning. This was a more a comment on the, er, unhappy posts so far. DW have been a great company for the care and effort they put into every aspect of their releases. I don't expect that will change, Spencer loves the genre and collecting aspect too much. I feel he knows what the collectors out there want, and that is why personally try to get a copy in some form of every DW release. Not only is the package good, the music is always bloody excellent to boot- which let's face it is the overwhelming main reason for buying a record. Ultimately I am only really interested in the music.
Unfortunately you can't have a simultaneous global launch that pleases everybody, especially if the planned 1st release is tied into a local event. No one is debating that hard work, much hard work by the sound of it, has gone into this sub label and first release.
Perhaps the lack of similar calibre of event in the UK has guided DW to have a debut release in this manner, that is not Spencer's fault, and that is why the debut is in the US. I think it is this, perhaps with the possible lack of full details of all variants (if indeed any) of this LP that has caused the consternation.
