I found someone selling a copy of the Trainspotting soundtrack on ebay rather cheap. Its on orange vinyl, never heard of this pressing. does anyone know if this is a bootleg or a reissue i cant find anything on the net.
It says the barcode is - CAT # EMI ‎– EMC 3739, EMI ‎– 7243 8 37190 1 3
the same as the original

The orange is an out if print sampler for the full soundtrack. It's a promo released by Capitol. It's not a bootleg.

Has 4 tracks.
Lust for life
For what you dream
Atomic
Final hit

Looking at the cover it has full track listing which is wired! Id inquire with the seller as looks like it's the promo in an album sleeve!

Not on any Amazon, not in any legit webstore, only available through Ebay and Discogs.... I'd say bootleg

I got mine off ebay when I made the this thread.

Sounds pretty good. I few little pops I noticed on the D side, but mostly sounds really good. I'm happy with it.

The discogs sales history has a noticeable lag, these probably won't show up in the history for a while. I don't know what these were going for but grabbed one on discogs from a local shop here for $30. Added a grey marbled bootleg of Pink Floyd BBC sessions for good measure.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. Seems legit. No rough card stock cover, no bootleggy cat # like TRAINSPOTTING-001, and sound quality is quite good. If it's a boot it is the best one I've seen.

Bit like the last of the Mohicans where everyone assumed it was bootleg!

Its £32 shipped to the UK from HHV, so will keep an eye on a UK one as thats a bit high for me.

I still think it's suspicious: This is supposedly a U.K. pressing by E.M.I. , yet it isn't on Amzon.co.uk.
There's also some buzz about this release on other message boards, where it is mentioned that the ebay sellers of this record are known sellers of bootlegs.
Cardboard and vinyl quality means very little on modern vinyl bootlegs, I have accidentally bought some of the Phoenix records bootlegs in the past and received the German/Dutch bootleg version of Roger Waters'"Amused to death" ad a gift, and all look like genuine releases, while all are 100% bootlegs.
