Yup. It's the most notorious horror film of all time for a reason. For many reasons... Beautiful score, too. I wonder if DW & OWS got liner notes from Riz Ortolani before he passed recently???

For all it's worth, I don't think CH is gonna be in the sub. there's still Innkeepers, and the beyond that are announced. just a guess though.

He teased a release involving cannibals and a release involving outer space when the sub was announced. maybe it's another cannibal movie (zombie holocaust)? the beyond is going to be on the next sub.

One of the only scores for which I would happily wait into the night to order and even consider buying multiple variants.

Between this and the mondo films Riz Ortolani must have set more sheer atrocities to gorgeous music than anyone else in history. His influence led to every single mondo film through to the mid '80s having a sappy ballad feature prominently on the soundtrack, even the Castiglioni's vile Shocking Africa.

Cannibal Holocaust itself is a fascinating film, though for me it might be the weakest of Deodato's loose "Jungle trilogy" with Last Cannibal World and Cut and Run. Once you get past the initial visceral response it's too much of a theoretical exercise, plenty to pick apart and discuss but nothing particularly engaging. On repeat viewings it's only Ortolani's score that continually wrong-foots you, a constant reminder of just how oppresive and horrific the film felt the first time around. It's still a damn well crafted work though, and an example of just how good a director Deodato could be. I like Last Cannibal World more, but Holocaust is the definitive 'cannibal' movie.

Can't wait to see what gets cooked up for this release. Very interested in what they'll do with the artwork, so many iconic images to choose from. Who wants to bet the idea of a crucified woman picture disc was floated at least once? Hey, can't say I wouldn't buy it just for the novelty.

The reason you guys have not heard anything about this is simple:
Me and Spence are still working on a lot of details around the clock, because this is/was a really expensive and difficult release to get done.

As you may be aware of we were chasing this for almost 3 years now, rushing things would almost be blasphemy.
