So, im a bit confused. How many versions are there gonna be? 3?

will the catalogue numbers be different between the OWS and the Mondo editions? I tend to organize my soundtracks from death waltz and one way static by there catalogue number wondering where i will put this one (or if i get 2 versions etc.).

so its offical that mondo is selling their version tomorrow. really hope us in the OWS sub in the US can snag copies of the 2 international ones.

so...confession time, I've never had the stomach to watch this film all the way. my gore tolerance has gotten lower over time, and the animal stuff gets me more than the people to be honest. I'm gonna try and check out some tracks tonight, but if you guys had to compare the score to something else, what would it be?

As an Australian, my decision is made for me, as the Mondo version is only available to North Americans, it's a tough call but I think I prefer the overall package approach of the OWS/DW version, and prefer the deluxe splatter colour way to the Mondo green splatter, the gatefold of the impalement scene is a nice touch, and I kind of like the way it offsets the black and silver colour, which is a cool touch and a almost reminds me a bit of the old Cannibal Corpse "censored" cover releases, by hiding the horror inside, so to speak.

I am bummed that the OWS/DW version doesn't have the same centre label as the Mondo one, that details is cool as fuck! I'm not too fussed on the Mondo cover though, too busy in my opinion.

Regardless I am stoked for this release and will be watching this forum like a hawk for the release time, this is the score that made me really examine films and their soundtracks as all these years ago when I first saw it I was surprised at how beautiful the score was and how it bizarrely complemented the film and all it's gory details. There's something about that main theme which is so hauntingly defeated, can't wait to have the vinyl.

Don't know why but it reminds me a lot of Last house on the left with is mix of styles. Its a great soundtrack with synths, strings and added bonkers

Cheers for the comparison @Phil. I only just got round to listening to last house for the first time today. I wasn't really sure what to make of it.

I've seen CH, though only once and I probably wouldn't watch it again, I've not a strong stomach for the scenes involving animals. I've no recollection of the score. I'll pick this one up out of curiosity - I can only assume something that gets Mondo, DW and OWS excited is something that should appeal to me.

If I'm reading correctly the deluxe OWS will have a 12x12 bonus print of the US Mondo Cover.

People on facebook have really strange reactions to any announcement by DW or Mondo. They are very angry. It is strange.

This is very confusing. The ows red version is also the retail version? Stores have an allocation of this vinyl. But if you buy the deluxe version, you can only get it direct from ows but it's unlimited? But, you can only get the mondo version from the mondo site 'if' you live in the US. What a head funk... Is this really what record buying has come to?

That's my exact conundrum at the moment too Peek-a-boo. Not fussed what edition, just want a nicely pressed copy on vinyl. Sure to hit the shops too.

Here is the deal

The Ortolani family wanted the licensing split up as they didn't want to grant a worldwide license.

Mondo got their license last summer , we got ours in August (before the merger)

I always said to Seb if I ever gor CH I would joint release with him as it is a very important film for both of us.

We could have used the same artwork but where is the fun in that ?

The audio we are all using is the same and the records were all pressed at the same plant.

The DW/OWS deluxe gatefold version is a one time pressing.

The valentine red is a one time pressing.

Mondo can't sell outside of America and we can't sell to America ..

Crazy I know but that is the way it is !

All thre version look spectacular so you are not missing out what ever you get !

who is jumping through hoops, Mondo have a retail version and so do DW/OWS both will be available in all good record stores.
