I address all my records to be delivered to the, "Church of Her Lady of Everlasting Sorrow", so that it appears I'm doing charitable work. For some reason the wife still doesn't seem to buy it. Clever woman...

Nice theme going on there! Hopefully, The New Barbarians will be arriving soon as well. I thought the cover art teaser on the obi strip looked fantastic.

The New Barbarians is a good call... definitely need to add that to the above to help complete the set!

I suspect it is anyone's guess when Death Waltz may release it.

It also leaves me wondering how many Mad Max rip-off movies there are in circulation and if there are more to add to the list - perhaps post apocalyptic movies where guys with mullets maraud around is a sub genre in itself...?

Not on vinyl (yet, Spencer?), but a pretty fun listen.

Funk, disco, lounge, sexaphone, strings, moody noir tunes, percussion jams, vocal-*NEEDLE SCRATCH*

Vocals? Yes, there is a full-on vocal disco song. Even I got through it though, and that's saying a lot. It gets even better when you discover that Fulci wrote the lyrics.

@deaf - Happy to finally have it in the collection.

A little noisy but I can live with it :)

Spun out of control: My copy of Exterminators (orange) isn't numbered, even though it says so on the loose slip - how about yours?

The Pr1vate numbering is sometimes almost invisible. It is usually in the bottom right corner of the back cover in a dark colored ballpoint pen. On some of the other releases I've had to really look closely to see it.

@Rasmus & Texas...

Yes, the back cover was the first place I looked but mine was actually numbered on the inner gatefold, so suspect yours will be too... I either got number 15 or 75/250, as can't make out the first scrawled number.

Anyway, excellent release - best yet from Priv4te I reckon (I have their City of the Living Dead, Eaten Alive & The Great Alligator)? Package and the music - grungy 80s synth - right up my street.

Only bum note was, respectfully, they definitely need an English speaker to proof read the liner notes. :)

@Spencer - many thanks to the link for those Mad Max clones - seems there are quite a few to work through! Vaguely remembering watching The Cars That Ate Paris as part of the Moviedrome season that Alex Cox used to host on BBC2 late 80s/early 90s ! Guess a lot of us Brits probably got into these cult movies that way... think they may have shown Battletruck too

Ah yes, there the number is... Got # 26. And I agree, the score is excellent. Is the movie any good?

Oldies orders finally showed up. I'm less than thrilled as all three LPs are unplayable due to warps. Just a heads-up for anyone considering dropping $40 on sealed dead stock from the 80s...

I ordered mine direct from Pr1vate. Shipping was €9 registered. Hasn't arrived yet. Spencer mentioned putting these on Mondotees.com but I'm not sure if that's yet happened.

@texas - Yeah, my copy of TerrorVision is a bit warpy and skips around on the first track on both sides. Others on the board were complaining about warps in Oldies dead stock as well. Luckily, the copies of Maniac Cop and BTILC I received are both relatively flat and play without issue. Has anybody contacted Oldies about refund/replacements?

I have an entirely different issue with the Ferrara 2LP from Cinedelic. It's missing the second LP. No word back from Dusty Groove on that yet.

Oldies apparently does not have a good return policy. They offered a refund, but only if I ship the items back at my risk & expense. They won't send a shipping label or reimburse return shipping. Oh well, the world is still spinning on its axis, and I have spaghetti for dinner. I also found a quarter on the ground today which is pretty awesome.

I bought Maniac Cop, Terror Vision and The Thin Blue Line from Oldies right as everyone else was buying stuff (whoever started us off should be getting commission).

All 3 arrived obviously badly warped even before unsealing them. The sleeves were so bent out of shape it would have been impossible for the records to be flat. I do not believe they would not have noticed the state of them if they have eyes.

I've been using my JE Michell record clamp when test playing them as it gets them a bit straighter such that they play just about ok although they must be wearing faster from the amount of vertical oscillation that is still happening. I won't exactly be inclined to play them again any time soon.

This was my first purchase from oldies and I won't be using them again after this experience.

I'm considering just setting my credit card people on them to get my 53 bucks back as I don't consider this a good faith mistake. Not describing the condition accurately is fraudulent behavior in my book.

Yeah I also received a couple from Oldies that were really warped. Will not be returning...too hit and miss for me.

prettybleak - I'm not sure if Priv4te consistently gets to the States...some do and some don't - I'm going to wait for Mondo to get the “Exterminators” my Captain Future arrived beat due to some pretty weak packaging
