Quiet on the market? My bank balance disagrees with you.
I'm worth you @deaf, I need a break from all the great releases recently, and due over the next couple of months. If I could go even a month without buying something else my bank balance might be a bit happier! I could maybe block my own access to this forum, that might help.

And let's not forget that Record Store Day is coming up fast - could easily blow a couple of hundred on that if you're not too careful... :)

On the new OST topic - anyone have any info on Clint Mansell recording the score for Ben Wheatley's High Rise? Sounds like a marriage made in heaven, or possibly hell... hopefully there will be a vinyl release down the line.

This turned up today. Get it! It does seem to be a LITA exclusive (their logo is on the OBI). Nice heavy jacket, gorgeous red swirl color, a terrific score, limited to 500, comes with a 4-page insert, and it's priced at a reasonable $20. An original would probably set you back $600 if you could find one.

LITA really snuck this one under the radar.

I agree, TOO MANY great releases these days. I've been avoiding this forum just to help keep my $$$ under control. Great time for soundtrack fans, that's for sure.

Can't go wrong with Piccioni! Just noticed the obi says they used the original master tapes.

You can listen here:

What a great time for this kind of music. Crazy releases all over the place.

You'll know the awesome Bacalov track from Kill Bill 2 (Tarantino should join the forum!). I think this maybe has a couple of 7" releases and a Japanese LP. Looks like Beatport is releasing it as an LP + 7", kick ass.

@texas very interesting stuff.

I do have the summertime killer 7" but only has "run and run" and and "like a play" on it, seven seas Japan but the LP is very elusive.

Our pre order for The Order: 1886 is now up :)

The Order: 1886

Such a great score to a pretty great game.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL
GATEFOLD SLEEVE
4-PAGE INSERT
PVC PROTECTION SLEEVE
FIRST PRESSING OF 500 NUMBERED COPIES ON GOLD MARBLED VINYL

The Order: 1886 is an epic game score by British Academy Award winner Jason Graves (Dead Space, City of Heroes: Going Rogue, the Tomb Raider reboot) for the brand new Sony Plays tation game by the same name.

The Order: 1886 takes place in a painstakingly recreated Victorian- Era London, which features familiar places such as the Palace of Westmi nster, Mayfair, White chapel, the Crystal Palace, Big Ben, and the London Tube. But take a closer look. This alternate vision of London features new advances in technology brought about by an accelerated Industrial Revolution and the centuries-old conflict between Human and Half-breeds.

The British Academy Award winner Jason Graves is an American television, film and video game music composer, who is renowned worldwide for his cinematic, immerse and award-winning music.
Jason’s musical background as a classically trained composer, jazz drummer, keyboardist, guitarist and world percussionist allows him to compose in many different genres of music. As a result, his game credits alone include more than eighty titles, ranging from Electronic and Rock to full symphonic scores. He performs world percussion and guitar on many of his own scores and has conducted and recorde d his live orchestral scores.

Released - 6th April 2015

I keep listening to the Colpo Rovente. It's really quite a good release. I hear what has to be the Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni doing vocal work and an avant-garde noise section probably by Gruppo di Improvvisazione.

The liner notes suggest the film is good and describes it as a 'psychedelic Italian Godfather' with two very different cuts for the Italian and American versions.

Tim, how do you rate Beetlejuice? Found it in a used record bin recently but somehow wasn't in a spending mood. Have been thinking about going back to grab it. Thanks!

funny, the screenie in the above vid is from Romeo and Juliet - not Summertime Killer - right? either way, killer track. the 7" pops up often enough that I have to remind myself 'these are not the jams you are looking for.'

Beetlejuice is my favorite Elfman score, and one of my all time favorite movies. I always thought it would be cool if one of our labels did it with a black and white split (in my head it's a black and white split (or tri split) with green haze, although God only knows what that would sound like). I never see he original pressing in the wild and I'm pretty happy with my silence of the lambs reissue they just did so I'll probably pick this up for convenience sake. If you like Elfman, this is one of his all time best, zany and completely off kilter with a memorable theme and just some killer moments of sinister glee. I'd say this, scissorhands, and probably batman returns rank among my favorites for him, but the long sought after and soon to get the waxwork treatment night breed is probably my favorite non burton score of his....sorry for the ramble, Elfman was my gateway drug into soundtracks when I was a kid. My mother bought me "music for a darkened theatre" when I was 12 cause she knew how much I liked his music and film music in general, I swear that thing didn't leave my discman for months. (Boy does that sentence date me or what :))
