On the new OST topic - anyone have any info on Clint Mansell recording the score for Ben Wheatley's High Rise? Sounds like a marriage made in heaven, or possibly hell... hopefully there will be a vinyl release down the line.

This turned up today. Get it! It does seem to be a LITA exclusive (their logo is on the OBI). Nice heavy jacket, gorgeous red swirl color, a terrific score, limited to 500, comes with a 4-page insert, and it's priced at a reasonable $20. An original would probably set you back $600 if you could find one.

LITA really snuck this one under the radar.

You'll know the awesome Bacalov track from Kill Bill 2 (Tarantino should join the forum!). I think this maybe has a couple of 7" releases and a Japanese LP. Looks like Beatport is releasing it as an LP + 7", kick ass.

I keep listening to the Colpo Rovente. It's really quite a good release. I hear what has to be the Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni doing vocal work and an avant-garde noise section probably by Gruppo di Improvvisazione.

The liner notes suggest the film is good and describes it as a 'psychedelic Italian Godfather' with two very different cuts for the Italian and American versions.

Beetlejuice is my favorite Elfman score, and one of my all time favorite movies. I always thought it would be cool if one of our labels did it with a black and white split (in my head it's a black and white split (or tri split) with green haze, although God only knows what that would sound like). I never see he original pressing in the wild and I'm pretty happy with my silence of the lambs reissue they just did so I'll probably pick this up for convenience sake. If you like Elfman, this is one of his all time best, zany and completely off kilter with a memorable theme and just some killer moments of sinister glee. I'd say this, scissorhands, and probably batman returns rank among my favorites for him, but the long sought after and soon to get the waxwork treatment night breed is probably my favorite non burton score of his....sorry for the ramble, Elfman was my gateway drug into soundtracks when I was a kid. My mother bought me "music for a darkened theatre" when I was 12 cause she knew how much I liked his music and film music in general, I swear that thing didn't leave my discman for months. (Boy does that sentence date me or what )
