Soundtrack to a book of the same title, 'At Hawthorn Time' is a 2-track 10" with just under 30 mins of music. At £15, might be pricey for some but the first track is just stunning and sold it for me. Just have a listen to track one! 200 copies, no repress. Buy/listen HERE

Hey guys -

The Ghost In The Shell release is bogus -

LINK

So it is just like the Lost Highway, or Akira.

Have no fear, a for real Ghost in the Shell will be here...

Sony is aware of it now.

Lovely stuff Oiche - bagged.

If anyone is thinking of ordering from the Caught By The River site, do yourself a favour and grab The Dubwood Allstars' Under Dubwood single as well.

It's 7 inches of mashed-up brilliance, featuring Dickie Burton's quintessential reading of Under Milk Wood floating into the bible-black Welsh night on the rhythms of some seriously liquid dub.

^wondering who the hell needs this? sorry for the spoiler but this is a useless record for wannabee collectors. major labels try to suck every penny out of previous releases that might attract the new audience.

I'd love to find a good repress of psycho, it's an essential Hermann score. Nothing wrong with a 7" of the theme. I Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if I saw it in the store, I'd probably pick it up.

I'd go for that repress hatter. I have heard it so often that its easy to forget how groundbreaking it was. That single does look a little like a cynical cash-in (@ £10?) although 2000 presesd, might grab when its a couple of quid in 6 months time :)

Psycho's original score never had a proper release,on LP or CD, the Elfman/Bartek reworking of the soundtrack for the remake, which is probably the most faithfull to the original would make a great vinyl release at 30-something minutes.

This one is still in the mail so I can't give a recommendation yet, but Doxy reissued Psycho this year. I'll post after I can give it a spin.

I've heard some questionable things about previous doxy reissues, I was holding off until I heard the good word on this one, @texas, please do let us know if it's a good pressing :)

I have maybe 20-25 Doxy pressings, mostly jazz, blues and a couple OSTs. I haven't had any issues but maybe they've released some poorly-sourced stuff.

I'm impressed by the general quality of the Doxy and WaxTime/JazzWax reissues. I have quite a few WaxTime releases since Half Price Books stocks some of them for $12, and they're a great value. Mine always play really clean, and I've never had a defective one.

I can only speak for the first issue Doxy Psycho and that is probably the worst sounding album in my entire collection. Like it was recorded from an antique mono tv with a memo recorder submerged in a bucket of water in the next room.

The pressing is great though....
There probably simply isn't any decent source material for Psycho available.

I was going to attempt to respond to million's post, but I'm still too befuddled by it. At this pint I'll just hope that everyone agrees so I don't have any issues getting my copy because I know it will go perfectly in my jukebox this halloween.

I've noticed MOV seldom gets talked about on this board as a label, other than posts in this thread aobut new releases, so maybe they're hated for some reason. But they can keep soaking this wannabe collector every RSD with a new 7" of a classic horror movie theme. Greedy bastards.

I love that you have a juke box filled with horror 7"s. that's just...more awesome than I can really articulate right now.

The Doxy PSYCHO is a bootleg. The 2015 pressing sounds okay, but the record is not licenced.

I got I Speak Machine LP yesterday. Looks great. Unfortunately, on the first track on the first side, my needle skips a bunch at random places. I've cleaned the LP, and visually the vinyl looks unblemished. I'll have to play around tonight and see what I can do. From what little I've heard, it sounds good!

@layneharvey -- Thanks for letting me know! I've had a similar issue with the latest Demdike Stare Testpressing release, and I figured it was just me. I'll send off an email to Lex and see what reply I get. I'll post if I get any info.

@reddye6 - sweet. yes, do let me know if you hear back from the label. the rest of the album plays nicely, but that first track, sheesh. my needle was dancing around the grooves...
