@Spencer - no need to respond on my account - sure you have plenty of better things to be doing on RSD :)

Wasn't trying to make any point by posting that RSD link, btw - genuinely thought it was a very interesting and well balanced article. The guy had obviously made an effort to speak to a real cross section of people in the trade and it was pretty much the most informative piece I've ever read on RSD UK.

. . got a hold of Shogun and Hedwig, but neither DW. Even here in the US, I've never not been able to get a Death Waltz release before.

I've been lucky too. Got every Death Waltz release including flexis and rsd. So seems strange to not see either today. Hopefully find them soon.

Can someone get me a copy of "White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan" and "Placebo - Placebo (Red Vinyl)" please?

I'm living in hope that some turn up next week. Must be positive.

Holy hell I just opened up the Shogun Assassin . . it must be hands down the best RSD package - splendid, nostalgic, and generous.

@NMA - I missed both of those, or I would've grabbed 'em for ya.
@flupeco Shogun will be available on the OWS site in a week from now
Great news, Seb. I already picked up too much today so decided against it, but regretting it already. I'll pick it up next week from you guys.

Had more fun crate digging and taking advantage of sales then any new release. Picked up 30 days of night though, (not pictured) and good to hear I wasn't the only one in the U.S. looking nice for night satan with no luck, I'll keep my eyes peeled for the U.S. Release when it gets worked out :)

I may have legit squealed like a baby when I saw fitzcaraldo. The guy behind the counter laughed and said "oh man, I knew it would be you, our other soundtrack guy is gonna be sooooo pissed"

Also that "killer" is signed by Dennis Dunaway...hells yeah

I had to work til 3 today, so I anticipated being shit outta luck when it came to grabbing anything I was looking forward to...

Much to my surprise, I was able to snag most of what I wanted:

Big Bad Wolves
Shogun Assassin
mclusky - mcluskyism
OPN - Commissions II
Goblin - Chi?

No Spasmo, which is a bummer. Will be on the lookout for that and Nightsatan in the weeks to come.

And a heads up...Anyone in Pittsburgh looking for BBW, Mind Cure still had a copy or two. The also have a few Shogun Assassins left and a bunch of the Brian May soundtracks.

If i didn't collect soundtracks today would have been extremely successful, albeit absurdly expensive. Sadly I do and I sturck out big time. If it wasn't mainstream i mostly missed it, though i got a couple. I went to 2 stores and still didn't get: Nightsatan (since explained, i'm US), day after halloween, thirst, spasmo, 30 days of night, or shogun assasin (and i guess from above post soem places got chi?). both stores said they got copies in, just must have had a soundtrack collector or 4 ahead of me. Was suprised the foo fighters sold out but didn't pay attention to numbers so maybe not many. I guess my big luck was being randomly right by the stockroom door when a guy came out and said "i have one copy of the white stipes left, who needs it" The store was way more crowded than ever, and the ohter said the same , so despite cries of the death or RSD, I don't see it happening. Not to focus on negative, but i was very sad to find out the Psycho was a 33 rpm, as that kills my hopes to put it in the juke this halloween, but oh well.

@basement, if you happened to be wandering back in that store and want to pick up any of the things on my list, i wouldn't be at all unhappy ;-) Sadly I don't see any of my friends driving me to Pittsbutgh

To anyone in Toronto or area.
Rotate has 2 of the 3 Brian May soundtracks in stock.
Low levels...that's a given.

Anyone local find a Shogun Assassin? I wasn't thinking it would
be difficult to find, but I'm guessing stores ordered low stock
due to the insane amount of releases on the day. Hoping to stumble
across one in the next week or so.

I dropped into the local shop late morning, and found an interesting pair in Portland, OR, today:

No DW to be found, but they had all the new Brian May OST's here in the Pacific NW. I would have been interested, but I also picked up a used gem today:

Fun day, and I'm in for a quality listening session tonight.

grabbed Shogun Assassin and Powerglove from the first (and only) shop i went to. Passed on all 3 Brian May records, 30 days of Night, and the Morricone western. Got Spasmo via an online retailer a couple weeks ago. glad i didn't see the Cinevox box set because it was tooooo much and i would have been tempted. Surprised I showed so much restraint and very happy with what I got.

While my hour and a half drive was a complete dud...and you couldn't get me to pay $20 for the Psycho 7"...seriously? - I have to thank my friends in low places for getting me almost all of what I wanted...just missing Spasmo by Morricone

deaf...are you in Portland? Which store?

@Evan - It's more of a warehouse than a store (not open for public browsing), but it's run by local professional diggers. You can pick up orders locally in NW Portland though. LINK

So, did anyone cough up the dough for the Cinevox set? Seems the price point was a real deterrent for most people. And if the response on this site is any indicator, I can't imagine it did very well in terms of overall sales.
