@ Jimmy: Picked this up fairly cheaply in my local on 180 pink vinyl. While I'm not a huge BJM fan I do like Anton's approach to music and genre-mining, in particular his psych/ shoegaze stuff - although this one is probably more low-key than I was expecting from him. It's very spare in places, with simple instrumentation and nicely layered sounds, while in others it's dense and doom-laden, although it maybe lacks the one or two big hooks that I really wanted it to pull out....

Saying that there are some really nice moments if you're a fan of atmospheric / evocative mood music. The female vocals on the doomy Soko and Argento tracks for example really help to colour the album, and are almost in Squrl / Only Lovers territory. And particularly towards the end of the record, spectral keyboards and lovely ensemble-playing offer some light counterpoints to the encroaching darkness, as a motif finally makes itself heard:

Best track for me though is the stately, almost groove-driven, but reassuringly downbeat 'Elle s'echappe'. Not sure what kind of film Anton was imagining, but I assume it was set on a wet Wednesday afternoon, possibly in Cherbourg...

Gerhard Heinz ‎– Schamlos (Digatone 2015)

Previously unreleased soundtrack to Eddy Saller's 1968 sex & crime film "Schamlos" starring Udo Kier, Rolf Eden and Marina Paal. Featuring the music of Austrian composer legend Gerhard Heinz and previously unreleased versions of songs by psych/beat groups The Sirs and Charles Ryders Corporation. A trashy gangster thriller with provocative sex scenes, the movie is now considered a classic of the Exploitation period. Musically jumping from wild jazz to pounding uptempo beat with a hint at the new psychedelic scene of the time. An essential soundtrack put together from Gerhard Heinz’s original master tapes.

Complete with 16 page LP sized booklet containing liner notes in German and English.

Black version €20.00
Pink version €25.00 (Limited to 100 copies.)

@macready thanks for the breakdown. It caught my attention because it seems to be such a departure from the BJM stuff. I'm sure going to investigate more now!

Got the email(s!) from Jay earlier. Looks a nice package that. Thought it was pricey then realized that he's combined three grail library LPs in one release with tons of extras. This one's down as essential for me. And I thought last month was expensive... good grief!

I must've been polite enough - I'm not on the mailing list, but I managed to order one with the secret handshake provided by @the cult leader.

Any luck @texasvinyl?

You can pick these up from Mexican Summer as a package deal or individually. Should be cheaper for those in N. Amer. The link is in Priv4te forum.

Suspense and Cosmos were library records were they not according to Jay? I just put them here also as it gets a lot of traffic and is a fairly limited release. Apologies.
