@disco I recently saw and was puzzled by that Duke Jordan LP at a local shop. Art Blakey's band played the music in the film but I think Duke Jordan wrote most of the tunes - so my *guess* is that this is a recording of the same tunes by his band? maybe recorded after the Blakey LP started gaining popularity?

@jmc - thanks for that bro, i had no idea. the jordan lp is damn good, guess i'll have to add the blakey original to my "look out for" list too!

btw there's nothing like going into your local rekkid store to find that theyve had 1600 VG+ jazz lps in, diligently going thru the entire lot and recognizing next-to-nothing, to realise that your knowledge of jazz is like a beetle fart in a blizzard! :O

It is! Spencer, any chance to release the full soundtrack?!? I think it's still unreleased. The movie is also great, maybe not too intelligibile outside Italy, anyway the score is really good and Ortolani was pure genius!

I wasn't that stoked on Knife in the water on first listen, I need to revisit it to be sure.

My only gripe with that Knife in the Water release is that initial images showed that it was intended it should also include the sublime music from "When Angels Fall" (as per previous CD issue, from which I imagine this was remastered), but the final LP only has the additional tracks from "Two Men and a Wardrobe". I can only imagine that, at some late stage, they realised that it was too much music for two sides of vinyl!
