Well, I would expect a lot of noise on something graded G+. I use a paint pad from the hardware store along with a cleaning solution of 3/4 distilled water 1/4 99% alcohol and a drop of dawn dish soap, with a microfiber cloth to dry.

@Hatter where are you? Maybe someone near by with a RCM can give it a clean for you.

With an album that is G+ I'd expect even after a cleaning it'll still be pretty noisy.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the cleaning suggestions. Im going to call my local brick and mortar and see if he's got a machine. Gotta by places in NY I can find if not. Otherwise I'll give Texas' cleaning solution a shot.

I guess I was off the mark about the grading, I hadn't thought good+ would be so noisy, but from Texas' and static's replies it appears I may be off in my thinking. I assumed a fair amount of noise from an opened record this old, I was just a little shocked at how noisy it was. I'll give it a good cleaning and I'm sure it will be fine. I don't mind a bit of crackle on an older album as long as I can hear the music clearly most of the time.

Thanks guys!

@Hatter - I'm curious, is it the Spanish CBS/Sony pressing or the European Columbia pressing? Take this with a grain of salt, but I have heard the Columbia pressing is superior in quality.

oh wow...yeah I'd say from what i've seen on discogs, you did well. i ended up paying about 60 shipped from Spain, and i'm not thrilled with the quality. good luck.

Its the spanish CBS/Sony pressing...which of course it wasn't listed under. Why can't people be honest and accurate when they sell things. I still need to clean the thing, but i'm not thrilled with any of this.

Thanks, I thought it was a good price but wasnt certain (the description said it was a German Columbia pressing) -- now just to wait and see how it arrives! Good luck with the cleaning...

snagged ROBOCOP, THE BIG GUNDOWN, and THE MIDNIGHT SWIM today. glad there were still some of the 7" left for that combined shipping. also grabbed a killer deal from discogs of the IT FOLLOWS soundtrack for just over $20, shipping included. that one should arrive in a few days. i was a little late to the game on it.

It follows is great. Make sure yours isn't sandy/gritty. My first one was ruined in transit. Second came in great shape but somehow was subsequently ruined when I shelved it after the first listen. I think it had grit that scratched up the disc when I resleeved it. Maybe paranoia but you might want to replace the inner sleeve it comes with, just in case.

Also snagged Gundown today (someone buy my Dagored & Contempo!) and already got a shipping notice, super speed!

^ What the hell was I thinking? One stupid Euro cheaper at hhv.de

20 instead of 21, but a slow pre-order and first shipping on the 14.08.2015

No way. Just placed an order at Soundohm.

Good for you Volzom, I really, really love Soundohm, thank you so much for the recommendation. The packaging is always fantastic and the shipping times incredible. I order stuff from London that takes longer to get to me and that's only 30 miles away. I'll be buying all my library music from there going forward.

I hear you V. Sturdy mailers, super fast shipping and rather low prices on wax.

Aaaaand I got THIS as a free present from him with my last purchase, because he had been screwing up some of my last orders. Super cool guy, that Fabio.

I'm surprised it's so quiet about this release. I think it's a classic score and the art job on this is really great. Quite amazed it's still available through Mondo as of this morning.

Slowly catching up on my purchases. These records have pretty much all exceeded my expectations, was expecting greatness but these are stunning. The terminator soundtrack is possibly the best split between score and (cheesy but amazing) songs I've heard. Phantasm is just supurb and the eraserhead record is just an incredible package. Plus lfaith no more making music is joyous and they sound like they are having a great time!

The two deliveries of this week. Kung Fury and Hotline Miami II. So awesome. Amazing releases, especially the latter!
