This thread seems to have died down a bit - here's my feeble attempt to revive it!

I've been working hard on my site since I posted it back here months ago, but I've finally finished it and it's now on its own domain: https://blipblop.net.

I've tried to catalog all video game music releases on vinyl that I could find information about (and if you find that something's missing - please let me know).

I also maintain a list of upcoming releases: https://blipblop.net/upcoming-releases/. Here's some of those that I don't think have been shared in this thread yet:
Those are the ones available to order at the moment. In addition the following titles have been confirmed as well:
  • Crypt Of The NecroDancer Soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky. Release by Ghost Ramp.
  • Lagrange Point Soundtrack by Akio Dobashi, Atushi Fujio, Katsuhiko Suzuki, and Noriyuki Takahashi. Release by Ship To Shore PhonoCo.
  • LISA The Painful RPG Soundtrack by Austin Jorgensen. Release by Ghost Ramp.
  • Out Run Soundtrack by Hiroshi Kawaguchi. Release by Data Discs.
  • Snatcher Soundtrack by Konami Kukeiha Club. Release by Ship To Shore PhonoCo.
  • Untitled Taito Compilation. Release by Ship To Shore PhonoCo.
Finally, there's an ongoing Kickstarter for the game "The Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti" that has a vinyl soundtrack by iam8bit as a backer option in the $110 AUD tier: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/22 ... s-vendetti

2016 will truly be the year of video game music on vinyl! And I'm sure there's many more fantastic releases coming :)

Cool list. Finally caved on Street Fighter although I am not sure how much I need 4LPs worth of it. Oh well, can't resist.

Don't know many of the iam8bit games, do any of those soundtracks really stand on their own musically more than the rest?

Also curious about the fabled second pressing of Fez. Very quiet on that front... I do hope they press more of the standard edition soon.

Imo, Guild Wars and XCOM are alright, but not fantastic - admittedly I haven't listened much to those two, though. Into The Stars and No Man's Sky are both upcoming games with only very few track previews available, so it's hard to say much about those (although both are done by renowned musicians/composers). Banner Saga and Monument Valley have some very good OSTs in my opinion and are worth checking out.

Super weird situation with that one. Phil Fish tweeted that it will receive a second pressing, but people e-mailing Polytron have been told that it won't.

Mateo Sanboval wrote:Not a huge video game fellow, but the score for a Steam game called The Sun & Moon by Dubmood is pretty hypnotizing.
Dubmood has been releasing several of his previous titles on vinyl last year. Lost Floppies Vols 1 & 2 which remixes and samples keygen and cracktro tunes + the Force De Frappe album which contains music that was made for Hotline Miami 2, but didn't end up being used for the game.

I actually listened to The Sun & Moon OST not long ago and I agree - it's a pretty good soundtrack. If Dubmood keeps this up I think it's likely that we'll see that one on vinyl as well.

Been a bunch of new stuff confirmed - some which is really cool!

Mondo have teamed up with Konami and have announced the following titles:
  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
  • Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
  • Contra
  • Silent Hill
First release will be Castlevania which will debut at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Iam8bit have announced that they're releasing the soundtracks to FTL: Advanced Edition and Quantum Break.

Ghost Ramp have announced that they'll be releasing the soundtrack to Bad Mojo as well as another car-shaped Drift Stage 7". They've also stated that they have several more titles to announce this year.

A Mike Oldfield 7" with artwork and a track from Metal Gear Solid V will be released on RSD (UK/EU only)

Jim Guthrie has a pre-order up for a 5th anniversary edition of the Sword & Sworcery LP on blue vinyl: https://jimguthrie.bandcamp.com/album/s ... ace-babies

And finally, doseone have confirmed that we'll see the soundtrack to Enter The Gungeon on vinyl, although no further specifics were mentioned.

Dude Contra?? That's awesome. I used to wreck shop at that game, once upon a time I could beat it without the Konami code. Contra 3 would be great too.

Oh man, thats awesome.

SOTN alone is incredible. but to have the first 4 as well. thats just awesome. (where's Rondo of blood.Dracula X, they skipped one haha)

Contra and Silent hill both awesome as well.

Just read that the first Castlevania LP will be a SDCC exclusive, so if anyone out there is going and can snag me a copy, let me know when the time comes.

@spun

I'm sure it would sell, but last thing I heard he was pretty stuck to limiting his footprint. If it were to get a vinyl release it would probably be due to the game producer wanting to do it, that may sway Disasterpeace.

Somehow I doubt it'll be completely exclusive to SDCC. They might do what iam8bit did with Battletoads last year and make a version with different artwork for SDCC, which is available before a general public version. I'd be surprised if they're not doing a version that'll be available online later.

Oh I'm sure that will be the case, the collector in me just wants the exclusive even though the normal person in me is just thrilled to have the record at all haha.
