@thedeepness I hear ya man. I don't get it either. I snatched it up as soon as the link showed here too and it looks like we didn't get lucky. Maybe we can catch one on ebay for 4x retail soon I'd say better luck next time but unless they figure out a better way to give the die hards first access that sadly may not be the case.
Wow, what? 2570, and I started ordering right when the link showed up on this forum. Pretty bummed... It sucks that buying vinyl can feel so shitty... I wish there was somehow a different ordering standard... I wonder how many of those 1,000+ people who rushed to the site are familiar with the soundtrack? Or the film for that matter? Heh, eh. :/
@lazyben - that's not necessarily the case. Some of us "diehards" haven't set up accounts in the past as it is one more step in the checkout process. I tried to set up an account earlier today, which I couldn't do without buying another copy of LP's I already own.
This limited vinyl thing is getting out of hand. I'm a little bit ashamed of myself for even being a part of it.
This is great for Waxworks, put out quality and people will catch on. If someone told me a couple years ago that there would be this many people trying to score a repress of Rosemary's Baby I would have thought you were crazy. Can't wait to get mine, hopefully I score the haze variant (cross fingers).
I wonder if they have thought about going with a subscription service? While it may not be for everyone I like the subscription option Death Waltz offers. It is worth the extra money in my opinion
@thedeepness at this point I agree with the subscription. Of all of the new Record Labels issuing or reissuing OST's Waxwork is by far my favorite, which is nuts considering this is their 3rd release. They just put out such a quality product.
Does anyone think this popularity was a lot to do with the quality of the score (as in so many people genuinely like the music) or more because of the rarity of the first 200? I dont remember it being hard to grab a flesh and blood variant of Day fo the Dead when it went up, and currently thats my most cherished record both in looks and quality of the music. A lot of the DeathWaltz stuff doesn't sell out to quick and I can never seem to work out which scores are going to be this insane and wonder if all Waxwork releases will be this popular in the future?
Yeah, a subscription service would be nice. Or... An actual heads up on this forum, as opposed to a 10-second heads up? Or a "secret link", like Spencer has done in the past? Come on, treat us like babies, here!
Yep $25 shipping to Canada is a joke. No way I'm ordering this just to grab a variant. I'll wait and grab it from the local record shop like I did their other releases. Colours aren't worth that much.
@antimax YEAH! I care too hard about this shit and spend too much time hurrying up and waiting Damn it! ;-P Im sure which ever version I get will be awesome.
@Hardrain02 It's hard to say. Waxwork has found a good balance between quality music and top notch packaging. Waxwork's makes an effort to put out the definitive OST for each release. I have no doubt the John Harrison Creepshow reissue will be even more nuts! I can't wait!!!
@Waxwork maybe a little email link sent to the participants of this forum would be a good way IDK??
I think we all agree Waxworks has put out great stuff so far. Day of the Dead is one of my favorite and most played scores I bought this year. To be honest I felt like this was a pretty fair way to do the variant. I wish I had relized I could login in beforehand since I ordered the last 2 releases from them but that was my bad. I would rather see a first 200 or first 500 variant than the randomly inserted variants. @ antimax the "treat us like babies" is pretty funny. The secret link is cool but flippers would catch onto that just like anything else. I did like how OWS offered the variant as an option, not just first 200, and was clear when the variant was gone. I am also fine with it costing a little more for the variant than the regular version. I think that deters flippers a little.
After the crash yesterday I thought for sure it went up while I was working last night and I totally missed having a shot. I didn't read back through this thread whole thread and missed that Bub. Oh well, gonna be a great release no matter what color it is.
I'll be cancelling mine. I was here yesterday and got screwed today. I'll buy it from a local record shop used like I did the other two releases. Much cheaper and I'm giving my money to a local store and not some record company the craps on the fans waiting diligently. To all the people who got screwed yesterday by Waxwork's lack of foresight: Why are you just fine with this and even praising the company at this point? You come off like a bunch of saps.
Are all order numbers even numbers? If that's the case, there should be 50 orders in every set of a hundred. I think 1746 is the lowest number I've seen...so that means first 200 would end at probably end at 2146.
