Hoo boy, couple of absolute gems dropped on the mat today. Can't get this mother off the deck right now:

Yes yes...she's a boot. I know. It sucks really, that nobody else has managed to get this RZA score out since the original 12" promo (which goes for bucks). But dayyumm!!! I needed this shit forever, and for what it's worth guys - it sounds good, the sleeve is basic and a bit amateur-hour (especially track list on the back - barely readable photoshoppery right up against the cut edge).

Can't condone it. But couldn't pass it up neither.

I've got a legit original LP pressing (same sleeve) from when it was first released, and when I played a DJ set with RZA he signed my copy.

Diapositive is a Brugnolini + Guantini record on Gemelli, really good stuff. One of the guys behind Sonor is auctioning a copy right now on the 'bay. He had it listed for too much $$ for a while and no one was biting, so I guess he switched it to an auction. I definitely recommend checking this one out!

Situazioni is a rare Rino De Filippi library on Edipan. It's good, perhaps not as good as some like Nel Mondo Del Lavoro.

Riflessi of course was just reissued by Sonor but I had to spring for the OG (got a good deal).

Eruzioni is a Lindok (Giacomo Dell'Orso) library on the Fly label that starts off as a good jazz-funk & bossa lounge library and gets crazier psychy towards the end. I really dig this one.

The Magma records are SMAG-01 and SMAG-02. Magma is an obscure micro press label by Gianni Mazza under the pseudonym Donoway and Niliomi which is a pseudonym of Vittorio De Scalzi and probably included some of the members of the Picchio Dal Pozzo. SMAG-01 is the same record as one called Flash Back and SMAG-02 Occasioni. They are both pretty cool records, especially the B side of SMAG-01 and two tracks on each side of SMAG-02.

I am kicking myself on an ebay auction from yesterday... I was going to buy SR-04 Jazz (of the Intermezzi series that is such a big want for me). Was clicking the 'bid' button on my max bid with about 45 seconds left on the auction, but I guess the clock on the site wasn't quite right and it ended before the bid went through. It went for only about $250, I was gutted. I guess I should stop the practice of bidding in the last minute because that countdown clock apparently is not accurate.

Just got a copy of Maniac. The front has a neat garage door flap that lifts up to reveal Frank standing with a knife and scalp.

Haven't bought any vinyl for about a month (since the Transmission opening) so had a bit of an end of week splurge on some new and not-so-new releases.... plus my birthday this weekend (so any excuse...) ;)

Black Mountain and the Simon Says 'Machina' soundtrack (85/100) were impulse purchases from Rough Trade but liking what I'm hearing so far, and thinking a fair few here would dig also...

Yesterday I found this record in a local record store. Never heard of nor seen before. It is the score to the Dutch mystery/thriller De Prooi from 1985. English title: Death in the Shadows

The score is composed by Henny Vrienten. He was the frontman of one of the most popular Dutch bands ever called Doe Maar. This was his first film score, but he went on the score more than 20 movies and tv-productions.

While I am typing this I am listening to the record for the first time and I have to say I really like it. Especially the B-side (that I played first because of not paying attention).
I couldn't find the music on Youtube so decided to put it on there myself. I ran out of space on my phone so only half of side B has been recorded... But you get the idea :-)
